"CCC will announce results on 24 August!" Yeah and prime street protests. We've travelled this path in 2018! W Mukori

Nelson Chamisa and company’s child like stupidity never seize to amaze and infuriate me.

"We have told ZEC that yakafamba kamwe haiteyewi. What you did in 2018, that rigging cannot be repeated again. I am a peace loving man. I love peace and I am going to maintain peace. Loving peace is not a weakness,” Chamisa told the CCC multitude the other day.

"We want to see the voters' roll you are going to use and that voters' roll must be authenticated so that we are not going to be surprised on the day. We want the ballot paper for the President and for the MPs to be given to us as samples so that we validate them.”

ZEC is obliged to produce a verified voters’ roll at least one calendar month before nomination day, which for these 2023 elections was 21 June 2023. ZEC has never ever produced a verified voters’ roll before nomination day or after. Never ever!

Chamisa said MDC A, of which he was the presidential candidate, would not participate in the 2018 elections without a verified voters’ roll. “This was a mistake Morgan Tsvangirai made in the past. A mistake he will not make!” he warned.

Zanu PF knew this was just grandstanding and political posturing. “Shiri maririre ayo!” The party knew MDC A were corrupt and incompetent and the promise of winning a few gravy train seats would entice them to participate in the elections without a verified voters’ roll. MDC A members were falling over each other to submit their nomination papers knowing fully well there was no verified voters’ roll.

Both Tendai Biti and David Coltart are some of the opposition leaders who have admit on the sheer futility of participating in these flawed Zimbabwe elections.

“Look, you can't keep on participating in flawed electoral processes that serve to give big benefits to dictators such as Robert Mugabe. Mugabe has perfected the art of winning elections. So it will be very foolish for the opposition to continue legitimizing these sham elections which don't deliver. This country will go through a serious economic crisis in 2020 caused by Zanu PF. And yet, this is the only country where a government doesn't perform, it is encouraged by a super majority in parliament,” said Tendai Biti in a 2015 interview with Isaac Mugabi.

“So you can't continue subjecting Zimbabweans to processes where their hopes just get crushed.”

Coltart went one step further and explained why the opposition are all participating in these flawed elections knowing fully well they are only giving vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy. Greed!

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

The pressure to have a verified voters’ roll for these 2023 elections  was  made unbearable when Team Pachedu revealed the chaotic state of the snippet voters’ roll they had managed to access.

Whilst Chamisa and company made lip-service demands for a verified voters’ roll they pointedly refused to make the production of the verified voters’ roll a condition for CCC’s participation in these 2023 elections. They knew it would be pointless as greed still ruled the roost.

So Chamisa’s call to “see the voters’ roll” on the eve of voting day must be dismissed with the contempt it rightly deserve. No one can authenticate the voters’ roll of 6 million in just a few days. Even if they can, to what end and purpose since the voting is set for 23 August 2023? Why did you leave it for the last minute?

“What you did in 2018, that rigging cannot be repeated again. I am a peace loving man.” Well that is just nonsense since the failure to produce verified voters’ roll is one of key vote rigging tools at Zanu PF’s disposal! As for Chamisa being a peace loving man that too is rhetorical nonsense. We have travelled down this path before and we certainly don’t want to do so again.

"I have told SADC that Zanu-PF wants to get the presidential result before reporting it to ZEC but once we get the result we will tell the world what we got ourselves, we will not accept that.

"We will have the result by end of the next day.”

Chamisa and company announced that Chamisa had won the 2018 presidential race ahead of ZEC official announcement primed the MDC A supporters to go out in the street to demand the results on 1st August 2018. Soldiers with standing instructions to shoot to kill awaited the protesters. Was that the acts of a peace loving man!

If CCC announce the presidential results on 24 August, there is a real danger of history repeating itself.

What is infuriating here is that Nelson Chamisa and company not only wasted many golden opportunities to implement the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections but have knowingly given vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy by insisting on participating in flawed elections. Having given Zanu PF the opportunity to rig elections and get away with it; Chamisa wants to wrestle power from Zanu PF using defenceless civilians as cannon fodder! This is insane and Chamisa must know that he will be held to account for it.

"Take your facts to UN. We are tired. For over 3 years now you are talking rubbish."

Look forward to hear you say that on Thursday noon when the results are out! (Of course, the penny did not drop in the past it is expecting too much to think it will do so this time. Some people's brain has ossified into fat, nothing ever registers there!)

    “Important Message!!

President Nelson Chamisa picture on the ballot paper is not clear. We must educate Citizens that President Nelson Chamisa is number 2 on the ballot paper on first column. The logo is relatively clear so people should check that. We know ZanuPF thought that will make people not to vote correctly. Zimbabweans are educated. Ngaapinde Hake Mukomana chero vakaisa zvigutswa munzira.”

So you think those who will be frog-marched to vote for Mnangagwa will do so because they failed to see it was not Chamisa!

Of course, you know Zanu PF is rigging these elections and you are participating to give the regime legitimacy and thus perpetuating the dictatorship. You don’t care about the suffering masses as long as CCC win the few gravy train seats on offer as bait. You have your beady eyes on one of the senatorial seats!

After 43 years of Zanu PF rigging elections and in this day and age here is some one who still does not know that Zanu is rigging elections or believe can win rigged elections! Talk of insanity this is insanity at a grand scale. Welcome to Zimbabwe a country of the mentally challenged! You will never ever see so many idiots in one place!

Yesterday, the Masvingo Urban Citizens Coalition for Change [CCC] members were severely attacked and injured by Zanu PF members at Diyo Shopping Center in Ward 9.

One of the victims, Loicey Makotore from CCC, was injured, and the doctor stitched her up 13 times.

Just a reminder of the political reality people like Chamisa pretend does not exist. This will only stop with implementing reforms and not by pretending the problem is not there!

  5. The Police, judiciary, ZEC, etc., they are all captured including CCC and the rest in the opposition camp. Judges were given US$ 400 000 housing loan on 6 June, just two weeks before nomination day. Why did you not denounce them?

It is no secret CCC and the rest in the opposition are participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy because they are after the few gravy train seats and/or POLAD freebies. Why have you failed to denounce them?

Zimbabwe is a failed state and the root cause is the failure to hold free, fair and credible elections. We need to implement all the democratic reforms and drain the sewage pond. Denouncing an odd corrupt official will make you feel good but it will not end the dictatorship!

  6. Zanu started rigging elections long before sanctions were imposed. IMF, WB, etc. stopped giving Zimbabwe financial assistance in 1999 because the country was failing to service its debts, this was before sanctions which were imposed in 2001.

The Chinese have largely stopped giving Zimbabwe financial assistance for many of the so-call mega deals for the same reason - Zimbabwe failing to services in debts! Mugabe complained about this and kicked the Chinese out of Marange and Chiadzwa over this in 2015/16. A big mistake because he was booted out in turn in 2017!

To blame the opposition much less ordinary Zimbabweans for the sanctions is a farce. Zanu PF has always dismissed the opposition leaders as puppets, is the regime now saying the puppets are dictating to the puppeteers! And the Patriotic Bill is seeking to silence puppets!

It was over The Gukurahundi massacre was about Mugabe pushing the one-party state agenda because he believe Zanu PF has the right to rule the country regardless of what the ordinary people say. Zanu PF is rigging these elections for the same reasons - sanctions is now just a convenient smoke screen!

The only take home from this discussion is that the 2023 Zimbabwean elections are not free, fair and credible and the outcome cannot deliver a legitimate government. One hopes SADC election observers will too come to the same conclusion and, for once, refuse to grant Zanu PF legitimacy!

    “Cadre Wilbert
You know that I support your view of not participating in elections due to them being a waste of time.

In fact I am of the opinion that only a peoples revolution can remove the regime.

However, a revolution cannot happen without the people.

The people are firmly in the corner of CCC.

When you want to start a revolution, the people need to feel hopeless. It is at their lowest that people will uprise.

A few scenarios will play out.
CCC will win, in that case we see if the political space is opened and we participate. All good.

    CCC loses.
Do they present evidence of rigging?
If they do, Do they form a government in exile?
    If not why not?

If they don’t, and they simply start saying 2028 hazvikoni, we in the diaspora then have a good foundation for a peoples revolution.

This is Chamisa’s Damascus moment. Godisinit won’t cut it this time. If he fails to produce, the people will seek an alternative.

    We are the alternative.
Everyone in diaspora is the alternative.

All regimes in the history of regimes have been removed by actions in the diaspora.

However, it needs a start point.

That start point is the results of these elections and the reaction of the opposition leadership.

    What is your plan cadre?

You, unlike many of the wildebeest herd out there, clearly understood the sheer futility of participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the dictatorship. People like Biti and Coltart understand all that and they continue participating out of greed.

You are not participating and so why would you still publicly support participating? That was what I failed to understand.

Your explanation above is flawed in that having supported participating it would be opportunism to then dismiss participating as folly once the results are out, to say the least, particularly in a clear cut case of greed and incompetence like this.

My plan is to educate the people so they understand what is going on here. This is reforms, free and fair elections, GNU, etc. these are very simple issues and not rocket science. The people do not understand any of these because no one has bothered to explain to them.

People are participating in these flawed elections to perpetuate their own suffering out of ignorance. Ignorance must not be confused with stupidity.

“It’s not about me but it's about us Zimbabweans coming together & finding solutions that will actually move our nation forward.”

Nonsense! You do not move the nation forward by participating in a flawed process to give Zanu PF legitimacy for the selfish purpose of getting POLAD freebies!

  9. In a country where elections are being rigged and has failed to hold free, fair and credible elections for 43 years and counting, "vote wisely" is an oxymoron! So you think Zanu PF has remained in power these last 43 years because people did not vote wisely?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Other than to prime the public for street protests what else would Chamisa hope to achieve by announcing 2023 election results ahead of ZEC.

CCC has facilitated Zanu PF's retention of dictatorial powers to rig elections and literally forced SADC to grant the regime legitimacy and now wants to remove Zanu PF from office using povo as cannon fodder - how irresponsible, dum and stupid is that!

  11. The only way such a buffoon can hope to remain in power is by rigging elections. The question then is, why have we failed to implement democratic reforms to ensure free, fair and credible elections in these last 43 years? Answer, we had many golden opportunities to implement the reforms and MDC/CCC sold out! Zanu PF is rigging these 2023 elections and CCC are participating out of greed!

  12. Zanu PF has a knack of trivialising issues to suit its own narrative I am glad some one took the regime to task on this. Calling the cold blooded murder of 20 000 so that the regime can impose a de facto one party dictatorship a mistake is an outrage! Zimbabwe is still feeling the ill effects of the dictatorship to this day.

  13. @ Mussi

There is enough evidence already to prove these elections are being rigged. How can these elections be free and fair when there is no voters' roll, when the regime has increase the number of polling stations from 10 in each constituency in 2008 to over 60 this year for the purpose of ensuring the vote is no longer a secret, etc. Those who keep pretending these are free and fair elections are not doing us any favours!

    ReplyDelete
  14. @ Sheps

We have been over this ground already! MDC/CCC have had 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU, are you saying they did not have any opportunity to implement even one reform in that time? MDC/CCC were elected to bring about democratic changes and it is right and proper that they must be held to account for their failure to deliver even one reform!

    ReplyDelete
  15. @ Makotekwa

You just do not want MDC/CCC to held to account for their failures. How is saying MDC/CCC leaders failed to implement even one reform in 23 years, not insult them? Even you cannot deny they failed to implement even one reform because you will not name even one reform they implemented.

It is the duty of every citizen to hold leaders to democratic account. It is bad enough we have idiots who do not only fail to take their duties seriously but worst of all are hell bent on silencing those who do! I will not be silence by an idiot!

  16. @ Vashe

Since when has Zanu PF ever advocated for reforms and and free, fair and credible elections? You cannot say stupid things and expect to get away with it. It is the duty of every citizen to hold those in public office to account and I will hold both Zanu PF and CCC leaders to account. You just do like CCC leaders held to account and hence all this hostility. I will be damned if I should allow an idiot to silence me!

  17. As Zimbabwe's Election beckons, UZA would like to encourage all citizens to go out in their numbers and vote for accountability, advancement, dignity and stability.

Tomorrow is a very important day for the citizens of Zimbabwe. This is the day when we will make the decision that will define our future. As we cast our vote, let us do this in peace and unity. Let’s abide by the law and our country’s constitution.

UZA Presidential candidate, Elisabeth Valerio will be voting at Main Camp Primary School, Ward 19 of Hwange Rural District Council, Hwange East.

President Valerio will be there at 9am. All media is welcome.”

Do you seriously want to tell me you believe these elections are free, fair and credible and the results will be the true democratic wish of the people of Zimbabwe? You have participated in these flawed elections for the limelight and, possibly for the POLAD freebies too, pretty good wages for selling the nation.

By participating in these flawed and illegal elections you have given SADC the excuse to grant Zanu PF legitimacy and thus help to perpetuate the failed state.

So here we are, some one aspiring to be the president and she does not even know what constitutes free, fair and credible elections. No wonder we are a failed state!

“Former Ntabazinduna chief Ndiweni encourages voters to vote, guard and protect their votes to avoid rigging.

DETHRONED Ntabazinduna traditional leader Nhlanhlayamangwe Ndiweni has challenged voters, particularly those who support opposition parties, to vote, guard and protect their votes at polling stations until results are announced to prevent rigging.”

Those who participate or encourage others to participate in these flawed elections; so flawed there is no voters' roll, Zanu has instituted a system so the vote is no longer a secret, violence was rampant, etc.; they are giving the process credibility and the results legitimacy.

They must know they can complain all they want about elections being rigged they cannot undo the damage of having given Zanu PF legitimacy.

Voter beware! Buyer beware! Caveat emptor!

  19. So you participate in a flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy so you can remove him in coup? How irrational can you be! The last coup remove one dictator only to replace him with another. The nation was lucky there was no blood shed then don't be so sure next time!

  20. @ Wezhira Munya

A member of the Masvingo Urban Citizens Coalition for Change [CCC], Mr. Lincoln Tonhodzai, aged 24, underwent a serious operation today on the right cheek. This operation was necessitated by an attack by Zanu PF members yesterday evening.

[The above video shows Mr. Tonhodzai in the operating theater after the operation.] This video was shared with Mr. Tonhodzai's consent.

This is the consequences of MDC/CCC failing to implement reforms and insisting in participating in flawed elections out of greed.

The people of Zimbabwe have risked all to elect MDC/CCC leaders into power for express purpose of implementing the democratic reforms and end the Zanu PF dictatorship. After 23 years not only has MDC/CCC failed to implement even one reform worse still they are now the ones insisting on participating in flawed elections, frustrating SADC, EU and all those calling for reforms before elections; to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuating the dictatorship out of selfish greed.

This is the equivalent of a second or third year running and none of you ten or so cows has a calf. A wise farmer would be thinking of replacing the bull and serve the present one for the pot!

Why the nation is loathed to even question MDC/CCC’s pathetic performance after 23 years much less make the quantum leap of holding them to democratic account; explains the reason why the country is a failed state. Democracy demands a well informed and diligent electorate and not a dozy one, so dozy they devoid of any common sense!

Of course, CCC leaders have proven beyond all reasonable doubt that they are corrupt, breathtakingly incompetent and utterly useless. Why so many Zimbabweans still continue to follow them blindly like sheep is because they are sheep! And the nation is not going to get out of the mess we are in as long as we have a naive and gullible electorate who cannot see even the simple and obvious things.

Participating in this flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy is insane; this is obvious, for Pete’s sake!

    "What if Nero wins!"

Given the criminal waste of human and material resources this has coated the nation so far; the nation will not be out of the woods until the reforms are implemented and I do not think Chamisa will ever do it: it would be Pyrrhic victory.

    ReplyDelete
  22. It is one thing to say "I won't allow rigging" but another to actually do it! Chamisa has made similar claims in the past and that did not stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. The same is happening this year!

The real tragedy here is that by participating people are giving the process credibility and thus giving SADC the excuse to grant Zanu PF legitimacy.

After 43 years of rigged elections one would think the penny has dropped but not in this case. We are a nation of thick heads and it shows - we are a failed state!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well here is another Zimbabwean who has not heard about rigged elections even after 43 years of Zanu PF mafiosi rigging elections. SADC leaders did their best to get Zimbabwe to implement reforms to stop the rigging but not even one token reform was implemented because MDC leaders in their infantile wisdom decided they could win elections without reforms.

Sadly, they sold the oxymoron to a naive and gullible populous millions now believe in winning rigged elections. You cannot reason with the wildebeest mob!

Will the penny finally drop by noon on Thursday as the result of yet another rigged election come through. One would want to say I hope so knowing fully well that is not likely, this is a nation whose brains as ossified into fat nothing gets through. Nothing!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Even the hardcore Zanu PF apologists are admitting the 2023 elections are not free, fair and credible. It is ironic that those who have the most to lose from the rigged elections the opposition and the public are the ones are as keen as mustard to participate in the flawed elections.

At least the opposition leaders get the few gravy trains seats and/or the POLAD freebies. Povo get the bitterness of five more years of this failed state.

Still, one hopes SADC election observer hear that elections are NOT free and fair and do not grant Zanu PF political legitimacy and condemn the nation to another five years of failed state and anarchy!

  25. Zanu PF has reportedly appointed village heads, war veterans and/or other hardcore party loyalist as election agents and they will be keeping a tally of voted. They will know most voters by name and face. Within one hour of the results being announced they will know who voted for Zanu PF and who did not.

Zanu PF increased the number of polling station from 10 or so per constituency in 2008 to over 60 today and scrapped the constituency voters' roll to a polling station voters' roll for one purpose and one purpose only - to make it easy for party operative to quickly know who voted for the party.

Those who continue to claim that one's vote is one's secret are being totally dishonest or lack imagination!
