Kasukuwere names his price for SADC to grant Mnangagwa legitimacy - ED damned if pays damned if doesn't W Mukori

“Matsotsi haagerani. Anorumana!” (Crooks do not cut each other’s hair. They will play dirty tricks on each other!) so goes the Shona adage. Let us just say that the November 2017 military coup, “military assisted transition” as Mnangagwa and his Lactose Zanu PF faction prefer to call it, was a very rough hair cut for the G40 Zanu PF faction who were booted out of office.

Saviour “Tyson” Kasukuwere and many of the G40 leaders were forced to find refugee in foreign lands. But home is home and there is no place like home and, no doubt, they have all missed home especially their stately mansions and the luxurious lifestyle they left behind. And so it should come as no surprise that Kasukuwere had planned his own elaborate come back!

Of course Kasukuwere knows that Mnangagwa is rigging these elections. As a long serving senior Zanu PF official Kasukuwere will have known that the party had would never win free, fair and credible elections and had no choice but to resort to rigging elections. As Zanu PF national political commissar he would have played his part in blatant cheating and wanton violence. His promotion in the party to ministerial position was founded on his reputation as a ruthless thug.

Kasukuwere also knows that ever since the humiliation of being forced by SADC to sign the 2008 Global Political Agreement because the regional body and AU refused to grant Zanu PF political legitimacy because of the party’s blatant cheating and wanton violence in the 2008 elections; Zanu PF was forced to abandon the de facto one-party state and embrace the multi-party democracy. And so as much as Mnangagwa is rigging these 2023 elections he is also making sure he maintain the facade of Zimbabwe as a functioning multi-party democracy. Kasukuwere knows that this is Zanu PF and Mnangagwa’s Achilles heels and he is not one not to take full advantage of it!

Saviour Kasukuwere is one of the 11 official presidential candidates in the Zimbabwe 2023 elections including Emmerson Mnangagwa himself. As stated Mnangagwa is rigging the elections and needs the other candidates to participate regardless how flawed and illegal the process gets for him to avoid the wrath of SADC refusing to grant him legitimacy as happened in 2008. To entice the other candidate to play along Mnangagwa is offering the few gravy train seats, a portion of the Political Party Finance Act annual payout and for the losing presidential candidate who publicly announce the elections were free and fair the POLAD freebies.

No one has come forward to say he/she is sponsored by Kasukuwere in the parliamentary race and whilst Kasukuwere would happily endorse the rigged elections as having been free and fair; it would not be for the sake of the POLAD freebies. He is naming his own price!

Asked if he does not fear returning to Zimbabwe after filing his nomination papers, Wednesday, Kasukuwere said he has to take security issues into consideration.

"Yes we have to take security issues into consideration. You don't board a plane as passenger 34 and just rock up without doing some preparatory work.

"We did that to see the reaction and very interesting results came our way," Kasukuwere told reports, still from the safety of his new home in SA.

"But we trust that now we are in the election period. You can't weaponise institutions against your opponents. I'm sure this is an election that everyone wants to proceed smoothly so that the outcome is not contested.

"We want our country to be back on an international stage and we the participants and contestants are all able to say this was a good election with a good fight and at the end of the day we are all brothers and sisters.

"So we are concerned and we will be raising these issues with relevant institutions, we have our SADC board…it's important that every contestant is protected and secure.”

Kasukuwere wants Mnangagwa to promise that he will not be arrested or harassed in any way now and in the future, that all his wealth such as mansions, farms, business interests, cash, etc. would be returned to him. He wants SADC leaders to be the witnesses and guarantor to the promise.

Mnangagwa needs SADC leaders to once again turn a blind eye to the mountain of evidence Zanu PF is rigging these 2023 elections; failure to produce a verified voters’ roll, the frogmarching of rural voters, the wholesale looting of the nation’s jewels to bankroll the vote rigging juggernaut, etc., etc. And as an official contestant in these elections, Kasukuwere will have unfitted assess to SADC election observers for purpose of making the mountain of evidence of rigging even higher!

It is too late to stop Kasukuwere participating in these flawed and illegal elections and now he is naming his own price for participating. And Mnangagwa is speechless, just like King Herod when Salome named her price; the head of John The Baptist in a silver platter!

“What would you want with a head of a man?” asked King Herod.

“To look at it!” answered Salome.

All eyes are on Mnangagwa, he is damned if he refused to grant all Kasukuwere’s demands and damned is does. Back home and emboldened Tyson will be a pain in Mnangagwa’s a***!

“Uchachema ukanyarara hako 😂😂 Coz mukomana arikupinda madhongi achikuma, imi vavengi muripo.”

The trouble with people like you is the lack of intellect. You cannot distinguish between reality and wishful thinking. To keep insisting on participating in elections in which the process is so flawed Tsvangirai failed to get the keys to State House even after winning 73% of the vote in the March 2008 plebiscite is infuriating. We know why the CCC leaders are hell bent on participating is greed, as Coltart admitted.

“The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

By participating CCC is giving Zanu PF credibility and thus giving SADC the excuse to grant the regime political legitimacy. The consequences of perpetuating the dictatorship is perpetuating the failed state and all the suffering and deaths that entails. It is all very well for you to laugh but the 49% of our people now living in abject poverty and despair are not laughing.

Zanu PF is rigging these elections and the only way to end this curse is by implementing the democratic reforms. MDC/CCC had the golden opportunity to implement the reforms during the GNU but failed to implement even one token reform. And ever since the GNU debacle Chamisa and company have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy for 30 pieces of silver. This is the insanity this nation must now deal with!

Is CCC participating in these elections because the process is free and fair or the party knows the elections are being rigged and it has the so called Winning In Rigged Elections Strategies? Either way come 24 August CCC must NOT complain that the elections were rigged because by participating CCC is giving Zanu PF legitimacy.

CCC has been warned repeatedly that by participating in these flawed elections the party is giving Zanu PF legitimacy. And to complain after the damage is done is nonsense. The nation is sick and tired of these crocodile tears.

CCC is participating in these flawed elections out of greed.

Gutu West Ward 7 of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) was witness to a significant event as Mr. John Mudavanhu, an aspiring councillor, was compelled to withdraw his candidature under the authority of two Central Intelligence officers at Gutu Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) office.

The evidence supporting this development can be found in the attached affidavit, duly signed by Mr. John Mudavanhu himself.

If candidates can be harassed and intimidated what more ordinary people?

Mnangagwa himself is on record boasting about how the rural voters will be frogmarched to vote for Zanu PF. This is the political reality in Zimbabwe and how anyone can still claim such a process is free, fair and credible beggars belief.

It is not only Zanu PF thugs who are responsible for denying our people their basic right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country but CCC are equally responsible. They failed to implement the reforms even when they had the chance to do so during the GNU and they are participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy!

Mambo Svosve was talking of CCC and so why should I ask him about Madhuku or Kasukuwere? All those opposition parties participating in these flawed elections are doing so out of greed. Why you think every time some one criticise CCC he list all the other opposition parties to is your paranoia.

“Boycotting is primitive way which will only worsen the situation, you will have to understand that all the political parties which are contesting in these elections are being treated the same so if one party boycotts others will participate and endorse the results as free and fair so. Boycotting is the worst mistake which they can ever make.”

The contrary is true. None of the parties would want to boycott and lose out on the chance to win the few seats being offered as bait. And this is what Coltart himself admitted.

Indeed, Coltart was not being totally honest because he said nothing about why MDC leaders had failed to implement even one reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. SADC leaders nagged the MDC leaders to implement reforms but to no avail. Mugabe bribed Tsvangirai and company with the trappings of high office and they, in turn, forgot about the reforms.

It was infinitely easier to implement the reforms during the GNU than after. If greed got the better of the MDC leaders during the GNU what more after!

Participating in these flawed elections has only served to perpetuate the Zanu PF dictatorship how anyone can still say that is good beggars belief!

“An election boycott is only for those without political capital to justify their participation. A weaker political player sees no reason to take part in an election because politics is a game of numbers. This explains why @Wilbert Mukori and the much-hyped Chapman did not show up at the Nominations.”

CCC showed up and they will win big in an election process so flawed that Tsvangirai garnered 73% of the votes in 2008 and still that was not good enough to get him into State House.

You see but do not perceive, hear but do not understand. You are incapable of comprehending the difference between free, fair and credible elections and rigged elections and hence the reason Chamisa had no trouble selling you the oxymoron dummy of Winning In Rigged Elections Strategies, even after 43 years of rigged elections.

No wonder the country is in a mess, with so many naive and stupid people like you around, we never had a chance of having a healthy and functioning democracy. We cannot even hold free and fair elections. It is very sad and tragic indeed.

You will have to explain what the GNU was, even now with the benefit of hindsight many have no clue what the GNU was about.

Participating in these flawed elections has only served to give SADC the excuse to grant Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the dictatorship. How anyone would think that is a positive outcome beggars belief.

The truth is we have so many of our people who have been brainwashed these last 43 years with Zanu PF propaganda and slogans and then MDC/CCC slogans and rhetoric, their brains has ossified into fat. You cannot reason with them, they are impermeable to reason and incapable of rational thinking.

“It's your assumption who doesn't know zanu-pf in Africa you can say it day in and day out but the thing is they're not going to win these elections even vakaedza rigging is not going to work.”

After 43 years of rigged elections you still expect to win big when you have done nothing to stop the rigging. It is insane but alas the insane do not self diagnose!

My concern is that the country is being dragged deeper and deeper into this hell of our own making. We have proven to the whole world that we, Zimbabweans are incapable of self governing and we are paying the price for it. Not that I would expect you to understand that, you are blissfully celebrating CCC’s imaginary big win!

“Why do you always think ZANU PF is offering seats to opposition, is ZANU PF indispensable. The competition is now open for everyone to run the race. So Mukori don't you think this notion is over subscribed and has no latitude on this platform. Can we focus on real election ideologies now for each and every party that is campaigning. That is relevant rather than spending our time on rhetorics.”

Zanu PF is rigging these elections and has rigged elections ever since 1980!

Ever since the 2008 to 2013 GNU Zanu PF has moved on from the de facto one-party state mentality to accept the political reality of multi-party state. So as long as Zanu PF allows the opposition to win a few gravy train seats to maintain the facade of multi-party state the regime has continued to rig elections.

Of course, CCC leaders know Zanu PF is rigging the elections and that participating in these flawed elections are giving the regime legitimacy. They have continued to participate regardless out of greed.

You can bury your head in the sand and pretend CCC is going to win big these elections all you want, the reality on the ground tell their own story. One does not have wait for 24 August 2023 to know Zanu PF has won these elections!

It is insane to believe in CCC’s idiotic nonsense of Winning In Rigged Elections Strategies (WIRES) especially after 43 years of Zanu PF Mafiosi rigging elections. The failure to hold free, fair and credible elections after 43 years, in this day and age, is a damning testimonial of Zimbabweans’ failure to govern ourselves!

“Can we focus on real election ideologies now for each and every party that is campaigning.” To what end and purpose when the winner of these flawed elections is not decided by the electorate? After 43 years of rigged elections you still don’t know these elections are rigged! Fcuk me!

“Tyson waBantu ngaapinde hake. We need real competition now the game is interesting. Saviour Tyson Kasukuwere, Emerson Mnangagwa, Nelson Chamisa and many polads who paid the fees and those who didn't. The top 3 are real competition.”

Kasukuwere is using these elections as leverage to get SADC leaders to pressure Mnangagwa to allow him to go back to Zimbabwe and reclaim his mansion, farms and business interests. From this position he will start plotting his return to power. If he was to get back into power in the future, it would be so he can take up the looting where he left off in 2017.

Kasukuwere is not interested in good governance, he is a thugs and does not care about any of that stuff. How anyone would welcome a seasoned thug as the state president only goes to show just how shallow thick and slow some people are!

I totally agree, ANC is greatest fear is for Zimbabwe to have regime change and there is economic revival. No doubt South Africans would too want regime change and hoping for similar economic recovery!

    ReplyDelete
  12. True, ANC has no right to decide who rules Zimbabwe, that is the prerogative of the people of Zimbabwe alone made in a free, fair and credible elections. Our curse is both Zanu PF and CCC are not interested in free and fair elections!

Zimbabwe's economy was already is serious trouble long before the sanction were impose in 2001. Zanu PF has rigged elections ever since Zimbabwe’s independence in 1980, again long before the sanctions were imposed. And Mnangagwa's reforms have failed to revive the economy because Zimbabwe is still a pariah state ruled by corruption, incompetent and murderous thugs; once again, nothing to do with sanctions. Get the facts right!

ANC is going to grant Zanu PF political legitimacy after 23 August 2023 vote regardless of all the evidence Zanu PF rigged under the pretext would not have voted to remove Zanu PF if the sanctions were lifted. Who gave ANC the right to grant Zanu PF carte blanche rights to rig elections and deny the people’s right to a meaningful vote as long as sanctions remain in place.

  13. These elections are so flawed and illegal Zanu PF is frogmarching rural voters to vote for the party for example. How will Polling Station Agents stop that? By participating in these flawed elections you are giving the process legitimacy and, per se, cannot complain the elections were rigged!
