10 000 Pastors for ED to attend Chitepo School of ideology - more like devil's imps for ED N Garikai

Zanu PF is rigging the 2023 elections and instead of more and more people coming out to denounce this outrage they are joining the vote rigging bandwagon.

”In a bid to foster patriotism amongst pastors, at least 10,600 pastors are set to undergo training at Chitepo School of Ideology,” said Pastors for ED National Chairperson, Idiraishe Dongo.

Pastors are supposed to be man of God, man of justice, the man who will fight for the oppressed and down trodden. In Zimbabwe the world has been turn up side down, the Pastors are now openly siding with the oppressors and aid and abet in the regime’s blatant vote rigging.

The party has ridden roughshod over the people denying them their freedoms and basic human rights including the right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country and even the right to life.

Dr Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi of the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) is one of the church leaders who have supported Zanu PF and the regime has rewarded him generously with farms and cash. He has managed to build an empire and a millionaire. No doubt the 10 000 other church leaders are as keen as mustard to join the bandwagon for their share of the loot!

"Our support for the President is something which is mandated by the Bible. The book of Romans Chapter 13, verse 1-6 mandated the people of any land to subject themselves to the governors of their land. The governor of this land is President Mnangagwa,” argued Pastor Dongo.

"Considering that 85% of the population are Christians, it means we are directly affected by the policies which will be made in the country. The role of the Church in Zimbabwe is to support issues of national development, nation building because we are the majority.”

It is most disconcerting when the devil quotes the Bible!

43 years of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF misrule has left the country in economic ruins with basic services such as health care and education collapsed and 50% of our people now live in abject poverty. The people have been helpless to stop the rot because Zanu PF has denied them the basic right of a meaningful say in the  governance of the country.

Zanu PF has rigged elections since the country’s independence in 1980. And with not even one token democratic reform implemented, the party is blatantly rigging the 2023 elections, once again denying the people a say in the governance of the country.

Zimbabwe is a failed state, a pariah state, ruled by corrupt and murderous thugs who have no respect for the suffering and deaths of others. The Bible and God in heaven has never ever supported such tyrants and all of His many prophets have always sided with the downtrodden.

Zimbabwe is in this economic and political mess because, like it or not, we have shown ourselves again and again t be a people with very low moral values who will sell their own mother for a price and be proud we had a mother to sell. Mugabe bribed his cabinet ministers with Mercedes Benz limos soon after independence, kickstarting the patronage system that has become the hallmark of the Zanu PF rule.

“Mose murivakadzi vaMugabe!” (You are all Mugabe’s concubines and neuters!) Margaret Dongo called her fellow Zanu PF MPs and ministers is exasperation at their failure to standup to Mugabe’s tyrannical excesses.

During the 2008 to 2013 GNU, when the country had its best opportunity to implement the democratic reforms, Mugabe bribed Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends and they spend the next five years praising the dictator!

It must be said, Mugabe and now Mnangagwa has never had any problems recruiting Zimbabweans from all walks of life to prop up and defend the Zanu PF dictatorship. Admitted the two dictators have willing paid price, anything to retain their iron grip on power, from the Z$50 000 pay of to war veterans in 1997, seized farms to party loyalists and cronies, mining concession (looting licences) to top brass in the security services, etc., etc.

Mugabe and Mnangagwa got what they wanted, absolute power and thwarting all hope of a democratic Zimbabwe but each and everyone of the bribes have been reckless and wasteful and dragged the nation deeper and deeper into the economic ruins and political paralysis.

Pastors for ED! Yeah right, it’s more like the devil’s imps for ED!

  1. Team Pachedu, which for long has been demanding a soft copy of the voters roll to be used in this year's polls, said: "The delimitation report is based on a shambolic voters roll which Zec illegally refused to avail to stakeholders since May 30 when the delimitation roll closed. The report is manifestly flawed and should be rejected in its entirety for this very reason."

Last year, Team Pachedu exposed several anomalies on the voters roll.

The irregularities include the alleged movement of 170 000 voters from their constituencies and wards and creation of additional polling stations under unclear circumstances as well as registrants with similar and wrong addresses.

Zimbabwe has never ever produced a verified voters’ roll in the country’s 42 years since independence and it is no surprise ZEC has stubbornly refused to produce one again. We have already established that Zimbabwe will never ever hold free and fair elections without first implementing the democratic reforms necessary to decouple the corrupting influence of Zanu PF on ZEC, the Police, etc.

MDC had the golden opportunity to implement the reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU but failed to do so. Mugabe bribed the MDC leaders with the trappings of high office and the rest was history.
It is CCC who are giving Zanu PF the arrogance to ignore demands for reforms, a verified voters’ roll, etc. Zanu PF knows that CCC will participate in these elections with no reforms, verified voters’ roll, etc. to give the regime legitimacy.

Deny CCC political credibility for selling out on reforms and for participating in flawed elections out of selfish greed and you will deny Zanu PF political legitimacy.

“The delimitation formula used by ZEC is controversial. Section 161 (6) of the constitution reads that ‘no constituency or ward of the local authority concerned may have more than twenty percent more or fewer registered voters than the other such constituencies or wards.’ In line with ZEC’s (mis) interpretation of section 161 (6) of the constitution, ZEC set the maximum registered voter threshold of 33 169 and a minimum threshold of 22 112 voters for each constituency. This was after dividing the total number of registered voters at the national level by 210 constituencies resulting in a national average of 27 640 voters per constituency. A variance from the national average was then calculated as average plus/minus twenty per cent. This is problematic because I think the correct view is that the 20% range must be calculated as average plus/ minus 10% to give a total range of 20%. Reader, in this instance variance simply means range as simply stated in the constitution not some statistical inference formula. The current ZEC formula results in a range of more than 20%.”

This is just a waste of time! How can we have a meaningful discussion on elections when we don't even have a verified voters' roll. Why CCC keeps participating in these flawed elections is no longer a mystery, they are after the few gravy train seats Zanu Pf is giving away.

  3. What is infuriating is the hypocrisy of people like Coltart. He knows that without reforms, Zanu PF is rigging the elections and CCC is participating out of greed. MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one reform 22 years, 5 of which in the GNU. Not one!

Coltart and co. have admitted the obvious thing is to stop participating in these flawed elections but will not because of greed. We know CCC will once again participate in these flawed elections regardless of the violence, rigged elections, etc. and thus perpetuate the Zanu PF dictatorship.

All these complains of violence, vote rigging by CCC is just lip-service. The selling out must be stopped here and now.

  4. Zanu PF supporters accosted villagers and flogged them ruthlessly with logs for convening a CCC gathering in politically volatile Murehwa, a Zanu PF stronghold in Mashonaland East.

The incident appears to have been filmed by one of the assailants in a video that has gone viral on social media.

The video shows elderly men and women being viciously assaulted and interrogated for attending the CCC gathering and being affiliated to the rival opposition party.

Zanu PF is rigging these 2023 elections and will escalate the violence if need be to be absolutely sure the party wins majority in parliament and the presidency. There is no hope of stopping the rigging and the violence without implementing the democratic reforms freeing state institutions like ZEC and the Police from Zanu PF’s corrupting influence.

What is annoying here is that Nelson Chamisa and his MDC/CCC friends know not only that Zanu PF is rigging the elections but also that their continued participation in these flawed elections in giving the process credibility and Zanu PF legitimacy. And still they participate out of greed. They know Zanu PF is giving away a few gravy train seats, POLAD rewards for the the losers, and this is what they find irresistible.

Chamisa and company will make the usual noise, complaining about the barbarism of the Zanu PF thugs but we can be certain of one thing, CCC will participate in these flawed elections no matter what. Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF thugs know that too and hence the reason they will ignore the complains and carry on with the rigging and the violence.

Zimbabwe is a failed state, the country is in economic ruins, basic services such as education and health care have collapse and already 50% of our people and living in abject poverty. This is economically, socially and politically unsustainable. The insanity of rigged elections and bad governance must be challenged and ended here and now!

    “So ukuda kuti Aite sei!”

This is a really foolish question! So even now you still do not understand that the primary purpose of the 2008 to 2013 GNU was to implement the democratic reforms designed to stop the vote rigging and the wanton violence.

Since 2013 elections MDC has been participating in these flawed elections knowing fully well that with no reform in place Zanu PF will rig the elections and that they participation will give Zanu PF legitimacy. They have participated regardless out of greed.

Chamisa and company are participating in these 2023 elections for the same reasons -incompetence and greed.

So, you do not know that MDC sold out and that CCC are selling out even now. What will it take to open your eyes and your mind? Fcuk me! No wonder Zimbabwe is sinking in this cesspit! We have more than our fair share of braindead idiots!

“Since they failed to implement should we fold our hands and say let zanu rule forever

Let him try and I know another GNU will be formed again.”

You are as thick, shallow and slow as they come!
You don’t get it that MDC/CCC not only sold out by failing to implement even one reform but have given up on reforms and free elections.
They are participating in flawed elections out of selfish greed and Zanu PF knows that only too well hence the reason Zanu PF can afford to ignore demands for reforms and free elections.
Zimbabwe is a failed state, the economy is in ruins, basic services like health care and education have collapsed, 50% of our people are already living in abject poverty, etc.
The tragic human suffering and the avoidable deaths is heartbreaking. The very survival of the nation is at stake here for Pete’s sake. We need to end to the madness of rigged elections and bad governance here and now!
Participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy is NOT an option!

So you think you are moving forward by participating in flawed elections to give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the dictatorship?

“Of course, the bullying I endured in my early schooling days most likely also was a huge influence - nonetheless, I received my first harrowing understanding of the evil of the ruling party (especially in 1984, when I was just an eleven-year-old boy, doing Grade 5) - leaving me in no doubt that Zimbabwe was led by the Devil himself!

As it turned out, the hideous sadistic ZANU PF regime has lived up to its disgraceful diabolical character for the past 42 years of its ruinous reign of terror - whereby, it has dismally failed the people of Zimbabwe, yet only holding on to power thorough brazen cruelty and thuggery.

The combination of my inherent love for writing - in which, I would even produce a handwritten newspaper for my classmates, and eventually contributing regularly to a weekly Kwekwe publication, whilst still in high school in the late 1980s - is what made me into the social justice advocate I am today.”

I totally agree that in these Zanu PF thugs, Zimbabwe is being ruled by the devil and his imps. What I find most disheartening is that after 43 years and many golden opportunities, notably during the 2008 to 2013 GNU, we have still failed to end the dictatorship. And it is not as if these Zanu PF thugs are anything else other than buffoons.

Only a village idiot like you would still insist on participating in these flawed elections, giving Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the dictatorship and the tragic human suffering yet again, for the consolation price “Zanu PF is afraid of CCC”!

Well your stupidity and Nelson Chamisa’s greed are going to be questioned and scrutinised this time like never before! Mark my words!

  10. ZANU PF has condemned violent scenes that are alleged to have happened in Murehwa, saying the Zimbabwe Republic Police must investigate and bring culprits to book as violence has no place in Zimbabwe.

Videos of violent scenes have been trending on social media purported to have happened in Murehwa, Mashonaland East province.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has launched investigations into the matter.

ZANU PF Director for Information, Comrade Tafadzwa Mugwadi condemned the violence, saying police must bring to book perpetrators of violence.

In the 2008 Operation Mavhotera papi millions were harassed, hundreds of thousands were beaten and/or raped and over 500 were murdered in cold blood as punishment for rejecting Zanu PF in the March 2008 vote. “What was achieved by the bullet cannot be undone with the ballot!” thundered Mugabe, encouraging the wanton violence. No one will be fooled by Mugwadi’s lie of Zanu PF condemns violence.

Zanu PF is rigging these 2023 elections and to be absolutely certain of electoral victory the party will not hesitate to use violence.

Zanu PF ndeye ropa! Zanu PF is for blood!

The only sure way to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections and using violence is by implementing the reforms. Sadly, the golden opportunity to get this done was wasted by MDC during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. MDC/CCC have been participating oil these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy for the sake of a few gravy train seats.

The challenge is to stop Zanu PF getting legitimacy by showing CCC are sell outs!

“Many people will X for NC because there is no strong credible alternative. Boycott is not a credible alternative when dealing with party that can manage to get away with a coup unscathed - getting away with a boycott is a small matter to them. The worst punishment they can get from external institutions is increased sanctions - which they can easily ride over at the expense of the masses. We have seen and experienced that and still are.

This is a fact we have to focus on instead of CCC or MDC past or present.

The best we can do is to use all the tools and power we the voters have and work with or without the present alternative structures to come up with solutions mindful of what kind of force we are up against.”

You have to ask yourself can the present political system in which Zanu PF has carte blanche powers to rig elections to guarantee itself the majority in parliament and the presidency ever going to produce a credible and strong opposition?

    The answer is NO!

Zimbabwe’s political system is so rotten to the core it can be compared to sewage pond. It is naive to think you can ever catch fish from a sewage pond, not even catfish can survive in the thick slug. Only crocodiles are thriving. Only thugs are thriving in Zimbabwe’s cut-throat dog-eat-dog political system.

MDC/CCC have been on the political stage for 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU, and they have failed to implement even one democratic reform. Tendai Biti and David Coltart have acknowledge it is not only folly participating in these flawed elections but, worse still, it only gives Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuates the dictatorship. They have continued participating regardless out of greed.

It was SADC who forced Zanu PF to sign the 2008 Global Political Agreement, agreeing to the need for reforms and the GNU. Many Zimbabweans have no clue what the GNU was for much less why it was a failure and yet have been quick to judge on matters they do not understand. Still, it is nonsense to suggest the regional body has no influence.

How anyone has failed to understand these basic facts about MDC/CCC, even now with the benefit of hindsight, and thus still consider CCC a viable political alternative beggars belief.

Universal suffrage should be a blessing but given we in Zimbabwe have more than our fair share of village idiots, it has become a curse. Zanu PF has profited from the voters’ failure to comprehend the sheer folly of participating in a flawed election to give Zanu PF legitimacy.

A CCC team has been despatched to give the victims of Zanu PF violence “psychological, medical and physical support”! Yeah right!

People should ask themselves three questions:
Would the violence have happened if MDC had implemented the democratic reforms? They had 22 years, 5 of which in the GNU, to implement reforms but failed to implement even one reform.
The answer is no we would have put an end to this culture of violence if MDC had implemented the reforms. The next question is: has MDC done anything to end the culture of rigged elections and violence?
The answer is, they have done nothing. They are insisting in participating in these flawed elections to give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy for selfish reasons. Greed. Can this nation afford the tragic economic and political consequences of yet another five more years of Zanu PF tyranny? And for what? To gratify Chamisa’s company’s insatiable greed for the trappings of high office!

The real fight we should be focused on is exposing CCC betrayal and greed in participating in these flawed elections. Deny CCC political credibility and you will deny Zanu PF political legitimacy!

“If the general view is that CCC/MDC should be consigned to the dustbin of history - so lets chart the way forward without them - just like we have forgotten about the effectiveness of MDC, Recent revelations show that SADC could (maybe) have been disingenuous about their advice to MDC on participation - I would think so - based on the fact they ignored a coup and the recent revelation of ANC stance on regime change. I now rubbish their ability or guts to stand up against Zanu's unlawful ascendancy to power.”

In June 2013 SADC summit advise MDC leaders NOT to participate in the July 2013 elections without first implementing reforms. When did SADC advise MDC to participate in elections with no reforms?

When MDC leaders ignored SADC’s advice not to participate in the 2013 elections, the regional body washed its hands and reverted to supporting Zanu PF and ignoring the noise coming from the opposition.

When the opposition came out in support of the November 2017 military coup, SADC neither condemned nor condoned the coup. What did you want them to do?

Do not confuse ANC with SADC, the two are two different animals!

“I have come to the conclusion that Reforms are not implementable as long as Zanu are party to it or partner in the implementation process. The same for CCC to some extent if the sell-out label sticks. SADC is of no help either based on the earlier argument and also the fact that they dont see a crisis of legitimacy and unfair treatment in Zim - they campaign for sanctions to go disregarding the ongoing unfairness - such a referee cannot be relied on as an arbiter.”

If Zanu PF fail to get political legitimacy after 2023 elections it will ease to make sure neither Zanu PF nor CCC are in the next GNU.

The immediate task is making sure Zanu PF does not get political legitimacy and that starts with making sure people do NOT make the foolish mistake of participating in the flawed elections. Deny the process and CCC political credibility and you deny Zanu PF political legitimacy. Focus on the immediate task, this is where the real make or break task lays, fail it and nothing else matters.

“Our focus should not be on CCC. Rather it will be more progressive to discredit them in the eyes of those that grant credibility - certainly not SADC.”

MDC/CCC are now as much part of the problem as Zanu PF itself for three reasons:
They failed to implement even one reform although this was the primary task the nation gave them and expect them to do to this day. They accept this because the last C in their name stands for CHANGE.
They know by insisting on participating in flawed elections they are giving Zanu PF legitimacy but do it anywhere out of greed.
There are many simpletons out there who do not understand CCC have sold out on reforms and will never deliver free elections and so continue to give the sellouts their support and thus perpetuating the dictatorship. It is first and foremost these naive and gullible Zimbabweans who must now understand that CCC are no longer fighting in povo corner but rather in Zanu PF’s corner. If the ordinary Zimbabweans denounce these elections as a farce, SADC will find it impossible to say otherwise given the evidence of the rigging.

The solution here is to implement the democratic reforms and restore the rule of law, free the Police to investigate, arrest and charge those responsible for the barbarism. We do not need teams of CCC activists cum first-aid workers but law enforcing agents.

The question that must be asked here is why did MDC/CCC leaders fail to implement the democratic reforms to end the lawlessness even when they had the opportunity to do so? This is typical Zanu PF modus operandi - they commit the act of barbarism, deny it at best or, which is the norm, blame the victim for the violence. The truth is Zanu PF will loot, burn the country to ashes, rape and murder if need be; the party will stop at nothing, to retain power.

The only way to stop Zanu PF barbarism is by implementing the democratic reforms and severe the umbilical cords created by Zanu PF to influence and control ZEC, Police and the other state institutions.

MDC/CCC leaders had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU and they wasted them. Ever since the GNU, they have participated in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy in retain for a share of the spoils of power.

The people have been slow in realising that MDC/ CCC have abandoned reforms and free elections and are now fighting in Zanu PF’s corner. And until the people open their eyes and minds to this political reality, there will be no meaningful change in Zimbabwe and no end to the tragic human suffering.

Many Zimbabweans out there have no clue what constitute free and fair elections and hence the reason they are so easily conned into participating in these flawed and illegal elections. Those who hold or aspire to hold public office are democratically accountable to the public, be they members of the party or not, whose lives are bound to be affected by their actions. Indeed it is the duty of every thinking citizen to hold those holding or aspiring to hold public office to democratic account. This is essential for a healthy and functioning democracy and good governance.
