"I will tell them the truth (about coup)!" threaten Mugabe - what about looting, Gukurahundi, etc. W Mukori

The trouble with tyrant is that after decades of bombarding the people with lies and propaganda nonsense, they start to believe in their own lies and nonsense. After 37 years of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption that has reduced ¾ of our people into paupers living on US$ 1.00 or less a day whilst he siphoned billions of dollars to amass a fortune for himself and a few cronies. Mugabe has blame the poverty on “West’s illegal sanctions!” and thus absolve himself and his regime of any responsibility. The sanctions were targeted on him and his cronies but clearly had no ill effect except, according to his wield logic, on the very people not on the sanctions list.
Mugabe and his regime has used all manner of dirty tricks and violence including beatings, rape and murder to rig the elections and stay in power. Over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans have been murdered to establish and retain his de facto one-party cum one-man dictatorship. To hear him talk about the November 2017 coup that deposed him one is left confused and perplexed.
“I will tell them the truth that what you did was illegal. You abused the people, beat up people,” Mugabe told the small group of people who attended his birthday party. (A small affair compared to the hundreds of thousands strong who had become the norm on such occasions.)
“I know you were told not to talk about this, but I will say it because it is the truth. People were injured, some were killed. They came here with bruises; some with their heads injured, and told us that some of them had been killed. I will tell them the truth.”
Here is the man who presided over the Gukurahundi massacre in which 20 000 innocent civilians, main PF Zapu supporters were for no other reasons than to clear the deck for the de facto one-party dictatorship. Mugabe, grudgingly it must be said, admitted the genocide after years but only to dismiss it as “a moment of madness!”
The greatest number of those murdered during the coup is five and yet Mugabe was reportedly warning “the weak to leave the venue as he was about to give graphic details of the fierce power struggles”. He had 20 000 murdered and it was a “a moment of madness” soon forgotten and yet he is forced to give up power and the world must be stunned into silence to hear the details.
The tyrant reportedly complained to AU Commission Chairman Moussa Faki Mahamat that his wife Grace “cries daily” because the family has been deprived of their material benefits. ¾ of our people live in abject poverty and his regime has denied the majority of the people their freedom, human rights and dignity and all that has never even registered in his consciousness.
“Because we had a misunderstanding with one of my vice-presidents, Emmerson, the army with Chiwenga decided to take out tanks into the streets,” continued Mugabe.
“This is not what we fought for. We did not fight for people to be threatened like what happened, it’s sad.
“I asked, ‘are we in a war period, why go to war against your own people? Why do that? Because of power!’”
One of these fine days when those who stage the November 2017 coup are themselves booted out of office to allow for a truly democratic government born out of free, fair and credible elections to emerge; the real truth of the last 38 years of Zanu PF rule will finally be told.
The single most important truth people like Mugabe and his cronies must be told is povo are human beings too worthy of the freedom, human rights including the right to a free and meaningful say in the governance of Zimbabwe and the right to life itself. And what better way to make sure that these political thugs understood that fundamental truth that making sure they are charged, tried, convicted and punished for all the corruption that left millions of our people impoverished and for all human rights violations that striped povo their humanity and hope!

  1. @ Dr Amai

Could not agree with you more! The trouble here is that he was removed from office by his own fellow thugs who would never allow him to face justice for all his evil deeds because they were his partners in crime. His continued arrogance is born out of the understanding that Mnangagwa and company will never dare provoke him because he has so much dirty on them.

If Zimbabwe is serious about turn over a new leaf, then the nation must implement the democratic reforms and have a democratic government confident to deal with the corruption, murders, etc. of the last 38 years decisively and get them out of the nation's system once and once for all.

Mugabe and his G40 faction members will cry foul to anyone who cares to listen to them as if they have never done anything wrong in their whole life and their suffering under the present regime is the worst human rights violation the nation has ever seen! All nonsense, of course!

  2. Every human life matters and to him with a tooth ache his suffering is more important than that one who has lost both legs in a car accident. However when one with a tooth ache comes face to face with one with the broken legs he will have to be heartless man if he should demand that he must get medical help first before the other man.
Robert Mugabe and his wife are making a big song and dance about what happen to them during the coup and how much they, THEY and no one else, are suffering and yet they have causes millions of our people to suffering untold hardship to feed their insatiable greed for power and wealth. In a country in which unemployment has soared to 80% plus and remained there for two decades now; the economic hardship of millions of our people is there for all to see. How does Mugabe think the millions who have lived in abject poverty for decades feel to hear him bitching about his wife crying daily because she is missing her three times plus a month shopping trips!
Mugabe’s self-arrogance and callous indifference to the suffering of millions of others smacks of France’s Queen Marie Antoinette’s "Qu'ils mangent de la brioche!" (Let them eat cake!) And we all know what became of her!
I agree with you, Mugabe and his thugs’ reign of terror must be thoroughly investigated and let them face justice. Force them to acknowledge that povo are human beings too and that the misery and deaths povo have suffered all these years is far worse than the discomfort the filthy rich ruling elite have suffered from wearing washed silk knickers because they could not buy new ones!

  3. @Rodney15

If you can get ZEC to recount votes and whittle down 73% victory to a 47%, enough to force a run-off. And during the forced run-off, you can deploy you thugs like rabbis infected park of wolves on helpless sheep, to overhaul a 27% defeat into a landslide 84% victory in three months then you will never ever have to plan for defeat! Never ever!

President Mnangagwa dished out brand new twin cab Isuzu trucks to all the country’s Chiefs; he did this publicly in broad day. We all know this was a down payment to the Chiefs who have always used their power over the rural people to coerce them to vote for Zanu PF. The Army has deployed 2 000 soldiers to beef-up the war veterans for the same purpose, coerce the villages to vote for Zanu PF. Zanu PF is rigging the elections long before the election date has even been declared.

“The big problem with Zanu-PF is that they do not plan for defeat, even though knowing well that their chances of losing or winning would be 50-50,” you said.

Zanu PF is planning to win these coming elections, the party will win the presidency and two thirds majority in both house. The party knows that they must give away a few seats to entice the opposition to contest; a small price to pay to give the flawed and illegal process so modicum of democratic credibility.

Without implementing the democratic reforms designed to take away Zanu PF’s carte blanche powers to rig the elections; the party secure its no-regime-change landslide victory.

“50-50!” You clearly have no idea what you are talking about, do you!

  4. Chamisa, de facto MDC-T President, is talking of having "stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging elections". Meanwhile the party's Secretary General is talking MDC "is capable of cheating elections" same as Zanu PF. Obert Gutu, the party's motor-mouth spokesman, says the party has developed "Winning In Rigged Elections (WIRE) strategies". The honest truth is they are all grantstanding and posturing.

"What kind of power was it if everybody knew that it would never be used?” asked the great African writer and intellectual, Chinua Achebe in his book Arrow of God. He too was questioning the foolishness of mystical powers that are never put to good use.

“Better to say that it was not there, that it was no more than the power in the anus of the proud dog who tried to put out a furnace with his puny fart."

The people of Zimbabwe must now wake up from their comatose sleep and take the country's destiny by the scaff of the neck, demand the implementation of the reforms and mean it. They must stop wasting time and treasure listening to these confused opposition politicians - they are nothing more than the puny fart of a proud dog!

  5. @ ED

After 100 days you, Sir, have failed to implement even oneof the raft of democratic reforms agreed in the 2008 Global Political Agreement as necessary for free, fair and credible elections. You can fool some people all the time on holding free and fair elections, you can fool some people some of the times but you cannot fool every all the time, especially the savvy foreign investors.

Foreign investors do not like to invest their money in a pariah state ruled by lawless thugs. By failing to implement even one reform this Zanu PF government is proving to the world that it is still the same lawless Zanu PF dictatorship of Mugabe days or be it under new management!

  6. @ Mawarire

The human rights campaigner Pastor Evan Mawarire has made clear that he has no confidence in the government of President Mnangagwa. Speaking at a meeting in Parliament in London on Thursday, the #ThisFlag leader said Zanu-PF's culture seemed to be second nature to the government and predicted the upcoming elections would not be free and fair.

Well, it is pleasing to note that the penny has dropped after his initial reaction of giving the regime the benefit of the doubt! A leopard does not change its colours so easily.

Mnangagwa has been Mugabe's right-hand man who carried out all the tyrant's demonic wishes with an equally demonic zeal that has left many people cold that the world could have given life to such an evil creature. Mnangagwa has carried out all the looting, vote rigging and murders to create the de facto one-party dictatorship. Mugabe and Mnangagwa only fall out because the tyrant wanted to get rid of his dirty-jobs man to clear the way for his wife to become president. Other than the power struggle these was nothing in the corrupt and tyrannical regime Mnangagwa objected to.

Yes, Mnangagwa was aware that the Zanu PF dictatorship was deeply hated by the people. It was a clever move to heap all the blame on Mugabe and the G40 members and then get rid of them just like a tree transferring all the accumulated poisons to the leaves and shedding them off! But anyone who believed for one minute that the Zanu PF without Mugabe and G40 elements was a just and democratic party was naïve. Mnangagwa was nothing more than a leopard that has roll in the elephant dug to disguise its own scent. It is good that people like Mawarire has realise what has happened before they foolishly vote for him.
