Mugabe says posts come from elections 'sarudzwa' - Devil quoting 10 Commandments. By P Guramatunhu

Being a dictator, is a wonderful thing; you dictate the rules, disregard them when it suits you and enforce them when they work in your favour. Everyone else must dance to your tune and even if they guessed right one minute you can change the tune and catch them out! President Mugabe has never ever contested a free, fair and credible election in his whole political life; he has seen to it that no one else challenge him for the top job and so instead of elective congress they have all been his coronation.

On the national front he has blatantly rigged elections denying the people a meaningful vote. But to hear him talk one would think he is the greatest champion of free, fair and credible elections. After breaking the rules to get what you want, you revert to the rules and even dictate that no rules were ever broken; this is exactly what President Mugabe is doing.

“Va(Phelekezela) Mphoko hatichavada. Hazviitwe izvozvo! Vamwe, tumwe twacho hanzi VaMugabe hatichavada. Ko  zvino zvausisavade unoti zviitwe sei iwe pachezvako vamwe vazhinji muparty vachiti tinovada? Hanzi ngavanzwe zvandiri kutaura; ngavanzwe zvatiri kutaura. (We do not want VP Mphoko. What is that! Some even said they did not want Mugabe. So what do you think should be done since the majority still want him? They demand that we listen to them.)” Said President Mugabe, addressing the ongoing Zanu PF conference.

He was answering the group of war veterans led by former Minister Chris Mutsvangwa who have earlier this year demanded that VP Mphoko and other leaders in the G40 faction must be removed from office. In July, the war veterans followed this up and demanded that President Mugabe himself must go because of his “dictatorial tendencies”!

“Hukuru muparty hunouyaka nekusarudzwa. Hahuuye nekuti aiwa tinoda kupinda uko, tisunde uyo tipindewo. Ko ndopfungwa dzevanhu here idzodzo? Ndopfungwa dzinenge dziine vanhu here? (Leadership positions in the party are earned by elections. No one dictates that they want this post or someone should be replaced. Is that what the people think?),” President Mugabe continued.

Douglas Mahiya, the spokesperson of the war veterans group demanding that Mugabe must go was telling a conference is Harare that he and his fellow war veterans are not going to apologise to the nation for harassing, beating, raping and even murdering innocent Zimbabweans to force the people to vote for Zanu PF.

“We cannot give a public apology for that, if we do, the apology will not be a genuine apology but would just be done to let it pass,” said Mahiya, at a Crisis In Zimbabwe Coalition conference.

The war veterans do not deny that their role in riding roughshod over the people’s freedoms and basic human rights to impose the corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship. Even now, with the benefit of hindsight of what the regime has done to the nation, Mahiya still insists that the harassment and murders were “incidental occurrence in their pursuit to defend the country from imperialists who were pursuing an agenda to reverse the gains of the liberation struggle”.

What is ironic here is that President Mugabe is not only seeking protection from democratic process but is using his presumed majority mandate to fight back the war veterans and Zanu PF cronies like VP Mnangagwa – the very people who have foolishly helped him rig elections all these years!

There is nothing more disconcerting than the Devil himself quoting the Ten Commandments to his imps!

RBZ Governor blinked and in 2 weeks $200 m export incentive was gone - conned. By N Garikai

Word on the street is RBZ Governor Dr John Mangudya is already talking of scrapping the 5% export incentive, the main reason for introducing the bond notes in the first place, because he is running out of bond notes. He has been dishing them out hand over fist not to exporters but conman! What happened, you might well ask? Child’s play really, is the simple and honest answer!

At the heart of Zimbabwe’s economic crisis, as far as the RBZ is concerned, is one thing; the country’s economic decline which has meant the nation is getting poorer and poorer and because our declining production has meant we exported less and imported more. Imports are paid in foreign currency and if you import more than you export you will end with a net flow out of foreign currency which is what we have in Zimbabwe.

Governor Mungudya’s proposal was to reward exporters or anyone bringing into the country the much needed foreign currency by paying the a 5% bonus payable in the bond notes which can only be used in Zimbabwe. Sadly, the Governor did not think through how this would work out!

a)     The RBZ Governor blinked; conman sends his principle amount, P, in foreign currency which is already in Zimbabwe out of the country, to SA say. It is a crime to externalize any foreign currency but conman do it all the time!

b)     From SA the conman’s partner in crime sends the foreign currency through the RBZ approved dealers who dutiful pays the conman in Zimbabwe the foreign currency plus 5% in bond notes. Conman convert the bond notes to foreign currency.

c)     The RBZ Governor blinks again: conman will transfer the foreign currency from Bank A to Bank B; just to muddy the waters should the authorities want to investigate.

d)     The RBZ Governor blinks again: conman transfer the foreign currency into his pocket ready for step a) above. Repeat the cycle ten times. If you have repeated the cycle ten times, go to e)

e)     The RBZ Governor blinks one last time: conman send all his foreign currency, a tidy sum of P plus 50%P, out of Zimbabwe before the regime converts it all to bond notes!

When RBZ introduced the bond notes on 28 November 2016 the nation was assured only $200 million worth will be printed. If the bond notes were paid out as the 5% bonus as promised then the country should have $4 billion worth of foreign currency when the last bond notes are paid out.

Whilst the RBZ Governor is seeing all the foreign currency coming into to the country and drum his chest like a silver back gorilla thinking he has solved the country’s foreign currency shortage problems; he will soon find the money he thought was there is not there.

The RBZ should just scrap the 5% export incentive as unworkable.

The conmen are setting up their black-market stalls ready to start trading the bond notes for foreign currency; they will use their contacts to get the foreign currency at the official 1:1 exchange rate and sell to the ordinary people at the exorbitant black-market exchange rates.

The introduction of the bond notes will not solve anything for the ordinary person; at best, the economic meltdown will continue at its present pace until the underlying economic problems of mismanagement and corruption are addressed. At worst the bond notes will make life hell for the ordinary people by adding the hyper inflation worries to all the economic meltdown problems.

The introduction of the bond notes has been heaven send for the conman. In two weeks, flat since Dr Mangudya introduced the bond notes and already the $200 million in foreign currency has already been stolen under his own nose. He blinked a few times and it was gone! In a country where corruption and mismanagement are the order of the day, there are very rich pickings to be had by those who live in the shadows!

Mahiya will never apologise for beating povo - pungwe rallies were wasted by P Guramatunhu

One of the tragic ironies of Zimbabwe’s liberation war is that many, many man-years were spent in “Pungwe” (All night political rallies) to educate povo on what the liberation war was about. Povo were forced to attend these Pungwes from far and wide and at great risk too.

There was a lot of sloganeering and singing at these gatherings in which the povo were forced to participate with energy and passion. The white regime’s soldiers homed in on the noise like hyenas homing onto a million-strong herd of wildebeest. Many comrades and civilians were injured and killed at these Pungwes. And now it turns out that the Pungwes were a complete waste of time and human lives.

The freedom fighters, man and woman like Comrade Douglas Mahiya, called these Pungwes and they led in educating povo what the liberation war was about. It is clear that people like Mahiya, even to this day, still have no clue what the struggle was about; povo would have done a better job educating him!

The liberation war was about ending white colonial exploitation and oppression of the blacks so that we can all enjoy all the human freedoms and rights including the right to meaningful and free vote and the right to life. If Mahiya and his band of rogue war veterans had ever understood that then they would have refused harass, beat, rape and even murder of innocent civilians in post-independent Zimbabwe.

“We cannot give a public apology for that, if we do, the apology will not be a genuine apology but would just be done to let it pass,” said Mahiya, at a Crisis In Zimbabwe Coalition conference.

As far as he was concerned, the harassment, beatings, etc. of the citizens were “incidental occurrence in their pursuit to defend the country from imperialists who were pursuing an agenda to reverse the gains of the liberation struggle,” reported Zimeye.

Nonsense! Mahiya and his rogue war veterans (not all war veterans took part) were carrying out orders from President Mugabe and his fellow corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF cronies to terrorise the civilians denying them their freedoms and human rights including the right to a meaningful say in the governance.

After decades of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption the Zimbabwe economy was in serious trouble by the late 1990s, the nation was desperate for good governance. To stop the people electing someone else into office, President Mugabe decided to rig the elections by any and all means including the use of violence under the pretext that anyone seeking regime change was an imperialist agent who will “reverse the gains of the liberation struggle”.

It was no coincidence that President Mugabe paid war veterans Z$50 000 gratuity and other allowance in late 1990s plus a further US$ 500 000 each, which he has never honoured. The down payment was enough buy the blind loyalty of the rogue war veterans and back the tyrant’s no-regime-change mantra although it violated everything the liberation war stood for.

Mahiya must explain how the millions of povo whom he and his war veterans have harassed, beaten, etc. over the years were going to “reverse the gains of the liberation struggle”?

Even if all these defenceless povo were about to commit this serious crime “of reversing the gains of the liberation struggle”; who gave Mahiya carte blanche powers to be the accuser, prosecutor, judge and executioner in this matter?

The refusal by Mahiya to apologize for what he and other rogue war veterans have done only shows how little they understand was the liberation struggle was about! No nation in its right mind can ever allow such lawlessness.

It turns out that Mahiya et al are still garnering for VP Mnangagwa to take over from President Mugabe in the hope that he will honour the pittance allowance war veterans are getting from the state if not the US$ 500 000 too.

No doubt if Mnangagwa is the Zanu PF candidate for the 2018 elections Mahiya and company will be out in full force once again harassing, beating, raping and even murdering innocent people under the pretext of fighting imperialists agents.

“We want to warn opposition parties that even if they came to power tomorrow and not attend to war veterans issues (welfare) they will still be carrying forward a problem with them,” threatened Mahiya.

Well that is laughable! Greed has blinded the idiot and his friend from the reality that the corrupt and tyrannical dictatorship they have been propping up has brought poverty to us all. After 36 years of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption and the nation up to its eyes in the cesspit one would think that even someone as dull and stupid like Mahiya would now realise that the political system has failed and we need change.

We must now demand meaningful democratic reforms followed by free and fair elections.

After all those man-years attending pungwes and 36 years of Zanu PF misrule one would have thought Mahiya et al have learnt to be humble; admit they were wrong to have beaten povo to promote a tyrant and apologise! As for us, we should have never allowed thugs like Mahiya to terrorise us denying us our freedom, human rights and self-respect and landing us in this hell-hole!
