Two cheers for democracy! Americans made a big mistake electing Trump in 2023, they have, with the midterm elections, gone a long way to correct that.
“If I was on ballot, Republicans would have won with a landslide!” said Trump. In a way he was on the ballot and, with this vote, the people gave him a slap in the face!
What lesson can we in Zimbabwe learn given our failed political system?
- Mnangagwa was never ever elected in a free and fair election.
- When Zanu PF lost 2008 elections - only free and far election in Zimbabwe - Mnangagwa and Chiwenga launched Operation Mavhotera Papi to wrestle power from MDC and, more pointedly, to punish the people for having dared to exercise their right to a meaningful vote.
- by rigging elections Mnangagwa and Zanu PF have made themselves unaccountable and illegitimate
- By rigging CAB3 Mnangagwa has extended elected term from 5 to 7 years in USA House Representatives (MPs in Zimbabwe) are elected for 2 years President for 4 years (5 increased to 7 years). In a fast changing world why would anyone want to increase the term?
- The single most important and effective guard rail against tyranny and bad governance is that the people must have a regular and meaningful vote!
It has been 46 years since our independence and we are still failing to hold free, fair and credible elections, we are still failing to afford every Zimbabwean the right and dignity to have a meaningful say in the governance of the country and we are all paying dearly for.
We are failing to learn from our own mistakes and from 2 500 years plus human history! Fcuk me!

The number lesson for us in Zimbabwe is that we must never ever give up our right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country. If the right is diluted or even denied; we must fights to the death to get it back.
Zimbabwe is a failed state and we have been twiddling our thumbs for 46 years helpless to stop the rot. For without the right to a meaningful say we are as helpless as an ant before an elephant - no human being should never ever allow themselves to sink this low before a mere mortal! NEVER EVER!

During a 2027 pre- National Budget Seminar, the nation learned that government owes various contractors a staggering US$1.5 billion. We already know that government contracts are often inflated, as much as ten times or more, and awarded to those with the right political connections.
Some of the fat cats are living in luxury from the interest payments alone and doing nothing! No wonder many of the infrastructure projects take a long, long, time to complete - if at all. Nyika inovakwa nevene nayo! Yeah right!
Vision 2030 is a mirage. CAB3 was passed on the basis Mnangagwa will deliver vision 2030. Now we know, vision 2030 is a lie we must make sure he is not allowed to stay in office beyond 2028. @028 presidential and parliamentary elections must go ahead without failure!
