CAB3 passed with 216 YES and 42 NO. Real surprise is that millions are SURPRISED! W Mukori

The controversial Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No. 3) Bill (CAB3) has cleared a major hurdle after securing the constitutionally required two-thirds majority in the National Assembly, moving it a step closer to becoming law.

The Bill sailed through Parliament on Thursday after 216 legislators voted in favour of the proposed constitutional changes while 42 voted against.

The real surprise here is that there are many out there who are surprised the bill passed! Zanu PF blatantly rigged the 2023 elections, a more complex process, it is therefore naive the even imagine the regime would have any problem rigging the constitutional amendment process, a process in which the regime can do as it damn well pleases!

After 46 years of Zanu PF rigging elections one would have thought every Zimbabwean out there has finally token up to the reality of not only that Zanu PF was rigging the elections but also that nothing of substance can ever be accomplished until this curse is dealt with. So why are so many Zimbabweans surprised?

There is one fundamental reason why millions of Zimbabweans are surprised CAB3 is sailing through: IGNORANCE!

Yes, Zanu PF has been rigged elections for donkey years now and got away with it every time because whilst many people have realised there was something wrong with the electoral process very few have ever understood enough detail to comprehend what is going on.

Election processes are not rocket science, that citizens should have a meaningful say in the governance of the country are not such abstract ideas in this day and age. The ancient Greeks figured this out 2 500 years ago; all others who have followed had only to embrace the ideas.

Why we are strangling to comprehend what constitute free, fair and credible elections speaks volumes of our ignorance.

Both Zanu PF and their corrupt and incompetent political side-kick, MDC/CCC, have taken advantage of the millions of Zimbabweans out there who have no clue what is going on to rig elections and/or con them to participate in flawed processes, “so flawed, so illegal, the only logical step is to withdraw. As long as there are millions of Zimbabweans out there who are so slow, shallow and thick they do not know what constitute free and fair elections; Zimbabwe will never escape out of the hell-hole we find ourselves in.

The 42 participated in the flawed elections "so flawed, so illegal the only logical step was to withdraw." They did not withdraw and participated to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. They knew Zanu PF was offering a few gravy train seats to entice the opposition to participate no matter how flawed and illegal the process got. They found the bait irresistible!

Ever since taking up the gravy train seats, Zanu PF has dished out more and more freebies cars, land to build houses, US$150 000 for development, etc., etc. They have had their moments in parliament and denounce the regime, CAB3, etc.

These are the classical mother-hen moments making a big show of chasing the eagle that has just snatched her chick! The tragedy is how many people have fallen for empty show! The 42 are now national heroes when their participation in the flawed process GAVE the 2023 elections legitimacy and what else followed that was unavoidable. The damage was participating in the flawed process out of greed!

42 CCC MPs voted NO to CAB3 and 35 voted YES!

A closer look at the two lists shows an interesting contradiction: many of those accused of being sellouts actually voted “No” to CAB3, while a number of those regarded as standing for the citizens voted “Yes.” It’s quite a surprising outcome.

The damage of giving Zanu PF legitimacy was done when these leaders decided to participate in the flawed elections knowing fully well that doing so would give Zanu PF legitimacy. They did this out of greed. Those CCC leaders who have made a big song and dance about criticising Zanu PF, CAB3, etc., are just playing to the gallery. Only the naive and gullible will fall for this!

  1. ZIMBABWE'S mining industry has issued a strong warning over persistent foreign currency shortages, saying limited access to hard currency is threatening expansion projects, beneficiation investments and the sector's long-term growth prospects despite mining remaining the country's largest source of export earnings.

Speaking at the annual conference of the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe in Victoria Falls, outgoing chamber president John Musekiwa said mining companies were struggling to secure adequate foreign currency to fund capital projects, import equipment and develop value-addition facilities.

The concerns come as the sector seeks to build on a strong recovery that saw mining exports reach a record US$8.5 billion last year, accounting for approximately 81 percent of Zimbabwe's total export earnings.

Meanwhile the country is squandering billions of dollars every year on cars and other luxuries! Common sense is not so common, not is Zimbabwe. And the man behind the voodoo economic has just had his stay in office extended by a further two years with the passing of CAB3 - he is the only trusted to deliver vision 2030, promise to increase present GPD three fold by 2030.

Every one with half a brain knows that vision 2030 is is a mirage but no one dares say it! CAB3 is just a smoke-screen to allow Mnangagwa and his cronies to continue looting.

The looting continues! “O saque continua!”

More than 40 years ago, I arrived in Chicago in search of an idea. I was a young man looking for purpose, who believed deeply in America, was inspired by the Civil Rights Movement, and wanted to be a part of something larger. The America I believed in was one where everyone has opportunity, everyone is seen, everyone belongs—because that was an America that had a place for me, too.

The difference between Obama and our buffoon in State House today could not be more stake! Where Obama believed is an America where "everyone has opportunity, everyone is seen, everyone belongs". Mnangagwa believed in a Zimbabwe where he has the divine right to rule and loot. He has shown repeatedly through Operation Mavhotera Papi, etc. that he will kill to impose his right!

Mnangagwa launched 2008 Operation Mavhotera Papi to wrestle power from MDC and to punish Zimbabweans for having rejected Zanu PF. Only a buffoon would do that!

One of the worst curses for Zimbabwe is that our yesteryear liberators, Zanu PF, have become our oppressors. The very fact that this is black on black oppression as contrast to white on black gives it the extra edge!

What is it that makes some blacks turn on one of their own with such cold indifference? Zimbabwe has had many buffoons who have done just that. Of course, man like Mugabe and Mnangagwa are buffoons!

"A quarter of a million dollars. That's what Zimbabwe's government spent renting buses across the country's provinces for a single Anti-Sanctions Day rally in 2019, trying to fill a stadium built for sixty thousand people.

One bus, dispatched from a ward in Manicaland specifically to bring marchers to Harare, arrived carrying exactly one passenger: the ward councillor who'd been sent to fill it. A whole hired bus. One man."

Zimbabwe has many, many man-made problems and one of these is the failure to hold meaningful, open and honest debate on issues of national importance. The debate on sanctions is one typical example. The price of a distorted debate is that the decisions are then made on falsehoods.

The sanctions were lifted on the basis of a lie that there were no human rights abuses including failure to hold free and fair elections. The reality is Zimbabwe is a failed state and one root cause of it is the 46 years of rigged elections that have left the nation stuck with this Zanu PF dictatorship.

The UK is about to have their 11th PM since 1980. In the same period Zimbabwe has only had 2 Presidents and that changed only came up as result of a military coup. Mnangagwa has rigged elections to stay in power and just extended his illegitimate rule by a further 2 years imposing the CAB3.

Many Zimbabweans escaping the xenophobia attacks in SA will be going to the rural home - hut muds. It should be noted that the rural areas are where the poorest of the poor in Zimbabwe live. It should also be noted that many in the rural areas would build decent homes for themselves if they had title deeds to the land. No one in the rural areas is allowed to have title deed to even one acre of land. All the land belongs to the President, before independence it belonged the the tribe hence the name Tribal Trust Lands.

Smith did not want rural folk o have title deeds for fear they would demand political rights next. Zanu PF has denied rural people title deeds for the same selfish political reasons.

How long are we going to allow Zanu PF to force millions of our own fellow Zimbabweans to live in abject poverty for selfish political reasons?

Zimbabwe is a failed state for many, many reasons and one of those reasons is the failure to comprehend detail. It this failure that is the root cause why we are masters of rhetorical nonsense - we argue endlessly going round and round in circles, starting nowhere and going nowhere else! CAB3 is one such example of rhetorical nonsense.

The usual suspects are still arguing as if the amendment can still be stopped and they are even praising the idiots who made it possible for Zanu PF to push through the amendment as heroes! The rhetorical nonsense will run for many, many more moons to come, wasting time, as the nation sink deeper and deeper into the abyss.

"Afa anaka!" is a feeble excuse for making Matemadanda a hero no more Judas Iscariot a saint!

In 2017 Victor Matemadanda called for free, fair and credible elections because it suited his cause. He was fighting Mugabe's drive to impose G40. He wanted the people on the Lacoste faction side and hence the pledge for free and fair elections. Zanu PF went on to rig the 2018 and 2023 elections and Matemadanda was as silent as the grave!

Matemadanda was just another Zanu PF thugs who believed that Zanu PF has the divine right to rule Zimbabwe and even to kill in pursuit of that right. Any attempt to portray him, now that he is dead, as a democrat much less a national hero who believed in freedom, justice and human dignity for all is just bulls**t!

Everyone has the right to freedom of expression as long as exercising that right does not infringe on the rights of others. In other words, you have the right to express yourselves but not to tell others to shut up.

Zimbabwe is a failed state because we have the Zanu PF buffoons who believe they have the right to not only speak but to silence everyone else. It is not surprising that there are many idiots who have copied the Zanu PF buffoons.

You should stop bringing your Zanu PF mentality here. Who are you to tell me to shut up?

Address the issues raised. You are free to reject them or say nothing. What you cannot do is tell me to shut up! Do that and you have crossed the double red-line and I will put you in your place!

The people of Zimbabwe have risked all to elect MDC/CCC leaders into office for one primary task - to implement the required democratic changes to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. After 26 years Zanu PF continues to rig elections as happened in 2023.

"Zimbabwe is a democracy," insist Amos Chibaya. If that is so then Zanu PF did not rig 2023 elections and the CAB3 process is not flawed nor illegal. What the devil is he complaining about death threats!

The truth is Zimbabwe is NOT a democracy, MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement any reforms even when they had the chance to do so during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. MDC/CCC leaders are Zanu PF team B in all but name; playing for team A to win and to have legitimacy for a share of the spoils of power.

The tragedy for Zimbabwe is that millions have yet to realise what is going on! They continue to be lied to and conned by both Zanu PF and MDC/CCC leaders, into participating in flawed elections to perpetuate their own suffering! Ignorance is a curse worse than death!

The people of Zimbabwe have been dying for an end to the de facto Zanu PF one party dictatorship for 26 years and counting. I have offered an explanation why the democratic changes they have been waiting for have not happened. And for you to be asking: “What mechanism did you put to help to liberate our country?” Only shows that you have not been paying attention!

“You are after blaming the what others are doing instead of putting a hand on good project that are on place.” Fcuk me! How exactly have I “blamed” and blamed them of what exactly?

It has been near impossible to have a meaningful debate on any subject in Zimbabwe because we have some of the most idiotic individuals on planet earth. "Our struggle for freedom today is the same as in 1960s." Yes there is something to be proud of in being "in the trenches" fighting but there is shame too in the failure to resolve and move on! The very fact that we failed to deliver ONE MAN ONE VOTE in 1980 proves we had no clue what it meant much less how to deliver it.

Zanu PF blatantly rigged the 2023 elections - proof we still have no clue what ONE MAN ONE VOTE means. And in this day and age!

Still, until we learn what constitute free and fair elections and thus cure ourselves of the double curse of rigged elections and bad governance Zimbabwe will remain a failed state.

A word of warning to the ruling elite, the passing of CAB3 does not mean you can now relax and be merry. Mnangagwa will be hunting you down, he views everyone to be a threat to his rule and, in his paranoia, everyone is a suspect. There was never any doubt that Mnangagwa would rig CAB3 to get what he wanted. The last chance to stop CAB3 was making sure the opposition did NOT participate in the flawed elections. Chamisa conned millions to participate and gave Zanu PF legitimacy and the damage was done.

CAB£ has give both Mnangagwa and Zanu PF even more dictatorial powers than they had until now. Wrestling the dictatorial powers from them will be no easy task!

Zimbabweans had risked all to elect MDC/CCC to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship. They sold out. They not only failed to implement even one token reform in 26 years but, worst of all, connived to give Zanu PF even more dictatorial powers!

We know during the inclusive government there's so many things changed in the people's lives regardless of being working with devil. Well Tinashe is not the first to reveal that MDC/CCC is heavily infiltrated with Zanu PF double agents. Chamisa himself has said just as much. 33. Totally agree. The paper title deeds have worked all these years and now we are being told they are being phased out. Why?

The nation has so many other pressing problems and not least of which is giving title deeds to rural povo and collapsing infrastructure such as roads, schools and hospitals. .

So why ism the regime fixing what is not broken but will not fix the many broken things.

  34. So only those who fought in the liberation war have a right to speak in Zimbabwe? This is the Zanu PF idiotic mentality we have been fighting for the last 46 years. And we still have some nincompoops who still retain it!

Temba Mliswa stop insulting our intelligence with you lies and nonsense. Was it the war veterans who drove the tanks and stormed Mugabe's home in the small hours of 15 November 2017 or it was Army Soldiers? So the war veterans supported the Army and not the other way round as you claim!

Operation Restore Legacy and Second Republic are just a continuation of the First Republic. Indeed, if anything, things are much worse under Mnangagwa than they were under Mugabe; corruption has gone into overdrive and the fog of fear is thicker now than ever!

Zimbabwe is a failed state because the nation has never been allowed to have open and honest debate nor benefit from vigorous democratic discourse and competition. CAB3 will only drag the nation even deeper into the abyss. This must end if the nation is ever going to get out of this hell-on-earth Zanu PF has landed us in.
