What Tongogara & co. said before 1980 matters not a jot, their failure to honour "One man, one vote!" is everything. W Mukori

 @ Tongogara

It is not what Tongogara, Mugabe, Zvobgo and the rest of Zimbabwe's black nationalists said before 1980 that maters; it is what they said and did after 1980 that matters!

History has shown that Zanu PF leaders did change completely as the prospect of power loomed. They made it clear that if the party did not win the 1980 elections the bush war would continue and thus throw out of the window the ideal of “One man, one vote!”

The party has never ever held free, fair and credible elections ever since. Idealism evaporated like mist in the morning!

Worst of all the party and the nation has yet to sort out the curse of rigged elections and bad governance. Zanu PF thugs still believe they have the divine right to rule by virtue of conquest and have rigged elections and worse to secure that right.

The nation had many chances to implement the democratic reforms and end the Zanu PF dictatorship, with the best chance coming during the GNU. Alas! the chances were all wasted. Morgan Tsvangirai and his banded mongoose MDC fiends sold out.

Zanu PF's failure to honour and uphold "One man, one vote!" is at the very heart of why we are a failed state. The right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country is more that just a right; it is the essence of good governance.

What Comrade Tongogara and the other Zanu PF nationalists promised before independence does not matter a jot it is what they did since that mattered. Their betrayal on "One man, one vote!" is our worst curse to this day.

The right to a meaningful vote is more than a right; it is the cure to the curse of rigged elections and the essence of good governance.

“And you what are you doing to stop this madness????”

The single most important task that Zimbabwe needs to be carried out right now is to educate the masses. When you have millions of people who are conned to participate in flawed elections, so flawed the result is pre-determined and participating only give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy. Still they participated because they believed Chamisa’s idiotic lie. This speaks volumes of how ignorant, naive and gullible the masses are.

Democracy only works if the people are educated, knowledgeable, objective and diligent in carrying out their sacred duty of holding leaders to account. In Zimbabwe many of our people are so ignorant they all but brain dead. They believe leaders like Mnangagwa and Chamisa are demigods who can do no wrong.

Even now with the country drifting deeper and deeper into this hell-on-earth, with millions of our people living in abject poverty; it still has not occurred to you that this is a man-made problem born of ignorance. It has not occurred to you that ignorance is a curse worse than death!

The ignorant are blissfully unaware of their own foolishness, they cannot self diagnose and so never appreciate the importance of education.

“And you what are you doing to stop this madness????” I am not surprised you ask. It has not occupied to you that the root cause of Zimbabwe’s economic and political mess is ignorance.

I AM CARRYING OUT THE ALL IMPORTANT, CRITICAL AND GAME-CHANGER TASK OF EDUCATING THE MASSES. THANK GOD THERE ARE STILL A FEW OUT THERE WITH THE COMMON SENSE TO SEE THE VALUE OF EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE.

How many companies have closed since Zimbabwe’s independence in 1980. Industry was contributing 30% of the country’s GPD and the country was able to feed its own people and exported surplus. Most of our industries have closed, we import milk from SA and trinkets from China. Over 75% of our people are in the informal sector living from hand to mouth!

Mnangagwa has squandered billions of dollars every year on vehicles for the ruling elite and bicycles for the war veterans and very little if any on wealth creating projects such as industries or value added to our mining and agricultural produce!
