Mnangagwa is a buffoon, yet smart enough to know he can afford to lose amendment No. 3 but not power to rig elections. W Mukori

Zanu PF's propaganda machine has been burning the midnight oil to make sure that Constitutional Amendment No: 3 was the only item of the national agenda. Why?

Mnangagwa is a buffoon, a ruthless buffoon whose greed for absolute power and wealth is insatiable - there is a mountain of evidence to prove this. He is a buffoon but not altogether stupid; he knows that every second he is able to keep the nation's attention glued on amendment No. 3 is worth a day he is keeping them away from weighty matter of rigged elections.

He would very much like amendment No. 3 to become law. Of course, he would love to remain President beyond 2028 to 2030. Who knows, he can even extend manage to extend his rule beyond 2030. He would willingly see amendment No. 3 thrown out of the door as long as he can be absolutely certain that Zanu PF, the party, retains its dictatorial powers and rigs the next elections and get away with it.

A Zanu PF dictator, even his current main challenger, VP Chiwenga, is bad news but manageable. Chiwenga will never investigate Mnangagwa thoroughly for fear of dragging himself and many other Zanu PF chefs into the quick-sand of crimes. Some one else other than a Zanu PF thug will not have such inhibitions.

The prospect of Zanu PF losing the next elections or being forced into a new GNU arrangement is simply unthinkable! Hence the reason why Mnangagwa will not allow the issue of rigged elections on the national agenda. And hence the reason why the nation must ignore amendment No. 3 as decoy, a distraction, and focus of ensuring next elections are either free and fair or the nation does not participate to give Zanu PF legitimacy!

"Just for the record, zanupf has an overwhelming majority in parliament. 2/3 of the seats there. It can therefore change or amend the constitution if it so chooses.."

Just for the record, Zanu PF rigged the 2023 elections and even if amendment No. 3 sailed through it will be of no benefit to Mnangagwa if the party loses the next elections.

Of course, amendment No. 3 is a decoy to draw attention away from demands for free and fair elections.

How naive! You and your MDC/CCC fiends have been on the political stage for 26 years including 5 GNU years and you have failed to implement even one token democratic reform - the number one task you were tasked to do. Worse still you have been conning the nation with your idiotic lies to participate in flawed elections to perpetuate the Zanu PF dictatorship. Is that the “chapwati” you are wittering about!

The trouble with failing to hold leaders to account is they become big headed, they will promise the moon in a silver platter because they know they will never be asked what happened when the fail.

Chamisa conned the nation to participate in flawed 2023 elections for selfish gain. He walked away with millions of dollars of EU donor funds plus whatever Zanu PF paid him for helping them get away with another rigged elections. He has returned to con the nation to participate in the next flawed elections. Watch out!

“Chipwati! Chinokupwatisa!” Yeah right! And so far it is the the ordinary people, not the Zanu PF dictatorship, that Chamisa & co. have crushed! Kupwatisa!

Why is it a sacred duty of every citizen to hold those in public office to democratic account? Because it is the failure to hold leaders to account that has made our leaders big headed and pig headed.

In his latest video Nelson Chamisa promises to bring a crushing political party. Chapwati! Ichapwatisa! Crushing! That will crush all before it! And yet he and his MDC/CCC fiends have failed to implement even one token reform in 26 years including 5 GNU years when they had the best opportunity to do so. He is now promising the moon on a silver platter, chapwati, because he knows he HAS never ever been held to account for all his lies and treasonous betrayals. Never! He must be held to account from now on!

All those in public office must be accountable to the people - that is not negotiable!

“Haaa this mukori should answer the same question he is always asking others the likes of mdc/ccc where where u as well what role did u play up to now or u ur just a useless barking dog 🐕 out there waakubhowa.”

You do not even know the difference between a public official and a private individual. So now we must hold the private individual to account before we hold those in public office! How nauseating!!!!

"It's Now or Never": Hon. Job Sikhala Urges Zimbabweans to Unite Against Dictatorship. We are being asked to believe that stopping amendment No. 3 will finally end the Zanu PF dictatorship. Bulls***t!

Ever if amendment No. 3 is killed dead tomorrow that will not stop Zanu PF rigging the next elections. ZEC has rigged elections on behalf of Zanu PF, for example, because ZEC is in Zanu PF's deep pockets. Killing amendment No. 3 is not going to change that because the amendment is about giving Zanu PF additional dictatorial powers and so killing it will not take away the dictatorial the powers the regime already have.

Amendment No. 3 is a decoy. Both Zanu PF and MDC/CCC leaders do not want the nation focus of the reality the nation will be going into the next elections with no meaningful reforms implemented. And so they are offering the naive and gullible public to feel-good sugar coating to the bitter pill of yet another rigged elections - that they stopped Zanu PF getting even more dictatorial powers!

  7. Every one in Zanu PF is expected to talk about nothing else but Constitutional Amendment No. 3 and thus create the impression that the Zanu PF dictatorship’s very survival is totally dependent on the amendment. Of course, this is nonsense. The dictatorship’s survival depends on making sure no democratic reforms are implemented before the next elections and the opposition participate in the flawed election as usual to give the regime legitimacy.

Amendment No. 3 is a decoy and the regime is pumping it up to give it importance. It is working like a charm!

Even if Mnangagwa was to drop dead today his Zanu PF successor will push for Constitutional Amendment No. 3 (even those who had been against it until now - no names, "zvinemuto ndozvineyi") for three reasons:

    1) he/she knows they will benefit from the change of term from 5 to 7 years

    2) he/she knows all the other changes will help consolidate their own hold o power.

    3) last but most important of all he/she knows the primary purpose of amendment No.3, just like ED2030 Agenda before it, is to draw the nation's attention away the fact that Zanu PF rigged the last elections and is. per se, illegitimate. But more significantly, that the regime is not implementing any reforms and therefore will once again rig the next elections.

Stopping amendment No. 3 will stop Zanu PF getting additional dictatorial powers but will not stop the regime rigging the next elections because it has all the dictatorial powers it needs already.

Those who are obsessed about stopping amendment No. 3 just to stop Mnangagwa extending his rule beyond 2028 are repeating the foolishness of 2017. The coup forced Mugabe to go but the dictatorship remained because we swapped one dictator for another.

We should be fighting for implementing the democratic reforms to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship and not just fighting to stop the regime getting additional dictatorial powers much less just stopping Mnangagwa.

Even if Mnangagwa was to drop dead, the Zanu PF dictatorship will remain. "Kufa komunjoni, kamba haivhara!"

  9. @ Harriet Tubman

“She didn't free them with speeches. She freed them with action.

Harriet Tubman made 13 missions into slave states and guided approximately 70 enslaved people to freedom through the Underground Railroad. But this quote cuts deeper than the history books admit.

She's not talking about physical chains. She's talking about mental ones.

The most dangerous form of oppression isn't the one enforced by whips and laws. It's the one that makes you believe you deserve your condition. When you've been told you're property for so long, freedom becomes unimaginable. Not because you can't run, but because you don't believe there's anywhere to run to.

Tubman saw this everywhere. Enslaved people who refused to leave because they feared the unknown more than their known suffering. People who believed the lie that they were less than human. She risked her life not just to lead them north, but to convince them they were worth saving.

This isn't ancient history. It's the blueprint for every system that survives by making people complicit in their own oppression. From colonial education that taught Africans to hate themselves, to economic systems that convince workers they're lucky to be exploited, to media that makes you believe your culture is inferior.

The cage isn't always visible. Sometimes it's just a story you've been told so many times you think it's truth.

Tubman understood something revolutionary: liberation is as much psychological as it is physical. You can open every door, but if someone believes they belong in the cage, they'll never walk through.

How many of us are still enslaved by beliefs we didn't choose?

Follow @african.echo for more African and global stories they don't teach you.

I do not dispute for a moment that the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 seeking to extend Mnangagwa’s stay in office beyond the stipulated maximum two term limit is a serious violation of the constitution.”

The chains of slavery are not always physical there mental chains too. It is the mental chains that stops one thinking rationally. It is this mental blockage that will leave them frozen like the habit caught in the head lights when they should run.

The constitutional amendment No. 3 might as well have been a cat thrown into a cage of pigeons! The pigeons in Zimbabwe are in panic mode! One says this, the second says that and third says some thing else which is neither this nor that. What is more, these pigeons are the nation's intelligentsia and yet none of them talk any sense.

“Only bloody sellouts say stupid things that you always say. Chamisa does not implement reforms Mnagagwa does - so all you vitriol should be aimed at him but of course he is your paymaster.”

I deal with facts and not idiotic nonsense like you, Svosve. Here are the historic facts!

The people of Zimbabwe have risked livelihoods, limbs and thousands have lost their very lives to select MDC/CCC leaders these last 26 years on the understanding these leaders will deliver the democratic reforms the nation has been dying for. Morgan Tsvangirai & co. even named their party Movement for Democratic Change, MDC! At certain nincompoop (no names, zvinemuto ndozvineyi) has even been calling Chamisa Change Champion in Chief.

Zanu PF continues to rig elections - proof that not even one democratic reforms, changes, have been implemented in 26 years including 5 GNU years. Mugabe bribed Tsvangirai & co. with the trappings of high office and they forgot about the reforms.

“Mazivanhu eMDC adzidza kudya anyerere!” boasted Zanu PF cronies during the GNU when they were asked why MDC leaders were not implementing reforms.

Even since the GNU debacle, the MDC/CCC leaders have been conning the people to participate in flawed elections knowing fully well that doing so would give Zanu PF legitimacy. They have soldiered on regardless because they also knew that Zanu PF gives away a few gravy train seats to entice the opposition to participate no matter how flawed the process get!

Chamisa lied about plugging all the vote rigging loop holes to con 2 m of his brain dead followers to participate in flawed 2023 elections. #Godisinit! The twat even evoke the name of God Almighty!

“Chamisa does not implement reforms Mnagagwa does!” the nincompoops insists! Fcuk me! So we have come full circle!

The people of Zimbabwe have risked all to elect the MDC/CCC leaders to implement the democratic reforms to end the Zanu PF dictatorship because the nation was painfully aware that the Zanu PF thugs would never ever reform themselves out of office. And after 26 years of treasonous betray the MDC/CCC cheer leader, the chief nincompoop, tells us that Zanu PF is implementing the reforms!

No wonder we are a failed state, we have some brain dead idiots amongst us, millions of them! Cursed are you who has made a career out of brainwashing the nation for 30 pieces of silver!

CHIWENGA IS A ZANU PF THUG, CORRUPT, INCOMPETENT AND FIRM BELIEVER OF THE DOCTRINE THE PARTY HAS THE DIVINE RIGHT TO RULE. HE HAS PLAYED HIS PART IN RIGGING ELECTIONS AND HAS EVEN ORCHESTRATED MASS MURDER IN PURSUIT OF THE GOAL OF RETAINING POLITICAL POWER AT ALL COSTS.

CHIWENGA IS NOT PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL AND IT IS FOOLISH TO SUGGEST OTHERWISE.

THE ROOT CAUSE WE ARE A FAILED STATE IS THERE MANY AMONGST US WITH A PENCHANT TO REPEAT THE SAME IDIOTIC MISTAKES OVER AND OVER AGAINT. SWAPPING ONE DICTATOR FOR ANOTHER WAS ONE SUCH IDIOTIC MISTAKE, WE MUST NOT REPEAT IT EVER AGAIN. VAMWE VEDU VANOKANGAMWA CHIZURO NEHOPE!

Will stopping amendment No. 3 stop Zanu PF rigging the next elections? The party rigged the 2023 elections without the help of amendment No 3. and those dictatorial powers are still there!

Indeed, those who are now posturing like the gorilla silver back swearing they will stop amendment No. 3 failed to implement even one democratic reform these last 26 years including 5 GNU years when they had the golden opportunity to do so. A few have admitted selling out on failing to implement reforms and confessed they did it out of greed. They have continued the selling out by participating in flawed elections and even conned millions to participate to give Zanu PF legitimacy.

MDC/CCC leaders and anyone with half a brain knows that Zanu PF will rig the elections as long as elections are held with no meaningful reforms implemented. Chamisa & co. have avoided this issue because they know the sold out and now have no intention of revisiting the issue. They have all taken up fighting to stop amendment No. 3 with relish because i

"Killing the amendment number 3 of the constitution is the first phase of ending dictatorship.

After that we move to fighting rigging election."

The battle royal is implementing the democratic reforms to end the dictatorship. I has been postponed for the last 46 years and counting, and amendment No. 3 is now the latest excuse for postponing. Even if we stopped amendment No. 3; it will be as nothing to the dictatorship if we participate in flawed elections to give it legitimacy.

After 46 years of rigged elections, do we really need another excuse for having another rigged elections!

  15. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has issued a statement distancing itself from an alleged attack on Professor Lovemore Madhuku and members of his team.

In a press release signed by Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the police clarified that they were not involved in the reported incident.

"The Zimbabwe Republic Police has noted reports of an alleged attack on Professor Lovemore Madhuku and members of his team. For the record, the police were not involved in the alleged incident," the statement reads.

This barbarism must stop. No Zimbabweans should be abused for excising their basic rights!

Mnangagwa is a crocodile, he has thrown the amendment No. 3 on the national agenda in much the same way a crocodile muds the water to create chaos, confusion and panic amongst the fish. The regime's barbaric attack of Professor Lovemore Madhuku and his NCA leaders must be condemned unreservedly. The attack is just another one of the regime's acts to stir up and muddy the political waters.

The people must understand that amendment No. 3 and these acts of barbarism are meant to draw attention away from the A1 task - implementing the democratic reforms and finally cure ourselves to the curse of rigged elections and bad governance. After 46 years of rigged elections and the nation in serious trouble we really need to deal with this curse A.S.A.P. Mnangagwa is doing everything he can to stop us dealing with the problem and we must not let him succeed - not again!

  17. That is rich coming from one who was swayed to commit mass murder in the 2008 Operation Mavhotera Papi and the 1983 to 1987 Gukurahundi massacre! Mnangagwa got into power through a military coup and then blatantly rigged the 2018 and 2023 elections. If he fails to extend his stay in office past 2028, it would not be because he has some how developed a conscience!

Mnangagwa should be in prison for the repeated violation of the nation's laws and human rights violations. The very fact that he occupies the highest office in the land speaks volumes of our own weakness as a society. Of course, we deserve the heart breaking suffering Mnangagwa and Zanu PF has inflicted on us all!

Nations get the government they deserve. We deserve this Zanu PF dictatorship complete with its corrupt and utterly useless MDC/CCC side-kick!
