Zimbabwe’s true liberation heroes and heroines know that we are a failed state and, per se, this is not the Zimbabwe they wanted. They would not join the Zanu PF thugs celebrating Heroes Day knowing the thugs hijack the revolution for their own personal gain and gratification. And, worst of all, the Zanu PF thugs falsely claiming that the nation’s struggle for freedom, justice and human dignity is done and dusted, Zanu PF delivered the coup de grace with the defeat of the white colonial rule in 1980. A liar!
In 1980 the nation swapped the white colonial oppressors for black ones.
If you believe the alpha and omega of the liberation struggle was to remove whites from power; then the very fact that Zimbabwe is a failed in which millions are living in abject poverty denied the basic freedoms and human rights - proof the tyranny and oppression has continued post indolence - is irrelevant.
Zimbabwe’s true national heroes are turning in their graves to see theZimbabwe they fought hard to free from white colonial oppression a failed state and millions of Zimbabweans suffering so. Of course, they would not join the Zanu PF thugs in the Heroes Day Celebration because there really is nothing for the nation to celebrate. If Mbuya Nehanda and Secure Kaguvi would not be seen dead in the company of thugs like Mnangagwa why would any thinking Zimbabwean want to keep the company of the thugs who have brought such despair, suffering and death to the nation.

Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF cronies disregarding all the values and principles of the revolution, to promote their selfish interest. In 1980, Mugabe and company made is clear that if Zanu PF did not win the 1980 elections, the bush war would continue. Of course the people voted to end the bush war and with that decision they lost forever their right to a meaning say in the governance of the country for decades thereafter.
SADC pressured Zanu PF to accept a number of changes making Zimbabwe’s March 2008 elections the nearest the nation has ever come to holding free, fair and credible elections. The people voted for regime change.
When it was clear Zanu PF had lost the election, Mnangagwa and Chiwenga stopped ZEC from declaring the results. They instigated a vote recount, blatantly cheating to give MDC just a marginal lead in parliament and whittle down Tsvangirai’s 73% votes, according to Mugabe’s Freudian slip, to 47%; enough to force a run off.
Zanu PF subjected the nation to the worst election related violence in the country’s history. The party carried out a military style Operation Mavhotera Papi whose purpose was to punish the people for rejecting Zanu PF in the March vote. Millions were internally displaced, hundreds of thousands had their properties destroyed, were beaten and/or rapped. Over 500 were murdered in cold blood.
“What was achieved by the bullet cannot be changed by the pen!” thundered Robert Mugabe. Egging on the party’s militia and war veterans, who were Operation Mavhotera Papi’s foot soldiers harassing and beating povo whilst the Army, Police, CIO and Prison Services personal carried out the heavy duty work of abducting and killing.
SADC and AU refuged to recognise Zanu PF regime’s legitimacy following the marred 2008 election process and forced Mugabe & co. to accept 2008 to 2013 GNU. The primary purpose of the GNU was to implement the democratic reforms to end the Zanu PF dictatorship and put the nation back on a democratic footing.
Mugabe bribed Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends with the trappings of high office and they failed to implement even one token reform. And so Zanu PF emerged out of the GNU with all its dictatorial powers intact with the bonus of having an opposition that would participate in elections regardless how flawed and illegal the process got for a few gravy train seats!
The ordinary people have been slow to realise that MDC/CCC leaders are Zanu PF team B in all but name, playing for team A to win and have legitimacy.
Chamisa lied to his brain dead followers that he plugging vote rigging loop holes and millions believed the idiotic lie and participated in the flawed 2023 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the nation’s suffering. Chamisa is set to repeat the idiotic lie to con the naive and gullible millions to participate in flawed 2028 with the same tragic consequences.
Zimbabwe is a failed state, the text book pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent and murderous thugs who rig elections to stay in power. Zanu PF has managed to rig elections and get away with it with the connivance of MDC/CCC leaders.
Ending white colonial rule was a necessary step to secure the freedoms and human rights and dignity we, the blacks, were denied by the whites. Ending white rule was as necessary as breaking the egg to make the omelette. After 45 years of Zanu PF blatantly rigging the elections, denying us the masses a meaningful vote it is clear that we got the empty egg shell and Zanu PF thugs have kept the omelette for themselves.
The people should have never given up their right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country back in 1980. Never ever! Not even when one was looking up the business end of an AK47, because, looking back the last 45 years, it is clear the nation did not secure the peace and has gone on to lose everything as the Zanu PF thugs have come back again and again to demand more and more.

Demanding that the sealed ballot boxes of the 16 Polling Stations with identical results must be opened in the presence of Court officials would have confirmed that the elections were rigged. ZEC would have only produced half the boxes, the duplicate boxes did not exist.
If Chamisa was serious about exposing Mnangagwa for rigging the elections, here was the smoking gun. He did not take it because he did not want to expose Mnangagwa!
Chamisa’s lawyer that he did not want the sealed boxes opened because he did “not want to drink from a poison well”! was nonsense. The rampant corruption has starved formal public institutions such as schools and hospitals of funds whilst generating millions of dollars then used to bankroll vote rigging and other nefarious activities.

Were those the actions of one who believe in the rule of law or one who believe he has the divine right to rule.

Zimbabwe and SA have taken two diverging routes after independence; whilst the latter's liberation founding fathers have delivered on their "Freedom Charter" promises, Zanu PF thugs reneged on their promise of one man, one vote and all the other freedoms and rights.
Zimbabwe is a failed state sliding deeper and deeper into the abyss. Our curse: yesterday's liberators have become today's oppressors and for 45 years and counting we have failed to end the curse! We have had many opportunities to end it, notably during the 2008 to 2013 GNU, and we wasted them all.

The key here is for the people to realise that Zimbabwe's current dysfunctional political system will never produce any quality leaders.
The Zanu PF dictatorship has stifled all meaningful debate and democratic competition to create a sewage pond; there is no quality fish in a sewage pond.
We need to end the Zanu PF dictatorship, drain the sewage pond, if we are ever to have quality leaders. The real choice before us is not Mnangagwa or Chamisa but rather keeping the dictatorship or implementing the reforms to create democracy.
We need to think outside the box!
Zimbabwe is a failed state no amount of propaganda can ever change that. Every one can see things are getting worse and not better. Vision 2030 is a mirage. Zanu PF has denied the people their fundamental freedoms and rights including their their right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country and even the right to life. 45 years of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption has left the country in economic ruins and millions of our people are living in abject poverty. And over 40 000 innocent Zimbabweans have been murdered in politically motivated violence.
Chris Mutsvangwa and the other Zanu PF propagandist have claimed the party has the divine right to rule because it was the one that spearheaded the war of independence. The right of conquest! So if they called this Zanu PF’s ideology, you will agree with them that Zanu PF should be allowed to continue to ride roughshod over the people denying them their human dignity and even life because they have the freedom to exercise their ideology. The people of Zimbabwe have risked the wrath of the Zanu PF thugs to elect MDC/CCC leaders these last 25 years on the understanding the party will bring about the democratic changes to end the Zanu PF dictatorship. Mnangagwa blatantly rigged the 2023 elections and got away with it - proof MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one token reform and have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy.
Mnangagwa has even been boasting of the harmonious relationship between Zanu PF and the opposition. “The opposition’s role is to keep Zanu PF in power”, he said. Zanu PF has corrupted the opposition as it did with ZEC, Police judiciary, etc. into Zanu PF team B in all but name. The opposition’s primary task of delivering the democratic changes to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship have been thrown out of the window.
So MDC/CCC’s ideology is to sellout on reforms and con people to participate in flawed elections to perpetuate the Zanu PF dictatorship and the nation’s suffering for a few gravy train seats reward from the the regime. And we, the people, the victims of this treacherous betrayal, must do nothing and allow Chamisa & co. continue the betrayal in the name of “freedom of choice”!

Zanu PF considers the rural areas as its strong holds because this is one area where the party has successfully reduced the electorate into medieval serfs beholden to the Zanu PF thugs. The rural voters are routinely frog matched to attend Zanu PF rallies and then vote for the regime.

45 years after independence you are still grappling with the question of what constitute free and fair elections. Even after 45 years of rigged elections you still believe the idiotic lie that the opposition will win rigged elections. The irony is you do not even appreciate free and fair elections is your right and not a privilege that can be denied by anyone. ReplyDeleteAs long as Zimbabwe remains a failed state because we have failed to hold free and fair elections; then reforms will remain on the national agenda. You are not angry that reforms are on the national agenda but that Chamisa is being held to account for selling on reforms and lying to con people to participate in flawed elections. Those are not just historic facts but, more significantly, Chamisa is gearing to con people to participate in flawed 2028 elections. One cannot end the curse of rigged elections without addressing the issue of Chamisa & co. conning the nation.
You can fume and froth all you want democratic reforms and Chamisa & co. selling out will remain on the national agenda. Why? Because I say so! One of us has to set the national agenda and, given you are one of the millions who consider Chamisa a demigod and thus brain dead, it would be foolish to expect you to set the agenda.

Chamisa conned 2 million Zimbabweans to participate in flawed, "so flawed, so illegal, the most logical step would be to withdraw" only to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate their own suffering. ReplyDeleteMugabe and the rest of Zimbabwe's founding father never intended to create a healthy and functioning democracy and they used universal suffrage to ensure they had a subservient electorate in the rural voters. The nation had a second bite at the cherry to end the Zanu PF dictatorship and put the nation on a democratic footing. Unfortunately Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC/CCC cronies sold out on reforms and have conned the people to participate in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy.
If Zimbabweans are ever going to have a democratic country then they must neither Zanu PF nor MDC/CCC will ever deliver it. The people will have to fight for it!
