"We have a solid plan that will deliver real change" says Chamisa - said same of 2018 stringent measures N Garikai

"We have a SOLID Plan. There will be real change in Zimbabwe," said Nelson Chamisa, leader of MDC A. And, as usual, he would not say what the plan is for fear of Zanu PF sabotaging the plan.

The people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb to elect Chamisa and his fellow MDC friend into power on the understanding they will bring about the democratic changes the nation was denying for. MDC stands for Movement for Democratic Change!

Sadly, after 21 years since the party was launched in 1999, 5 of the years in the GNU, the party has failed to bring about even one single democratic change. Not even one change!

Chamisa said "MDC A has measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the 2018 elections!" (He did not say what these measure were because he did not want to give the game away!) We all know that Zanu PF blatantly rigged the elections and, by participating, MDC A give the vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy.

Chamisa can keep his SOLD PLAN but it must be put into practice and stop Zanu PF rigging the 2023 elections. If the solid plan does not include stopping Zanu PF rigging the elections then MDC A must NOT participate in the  elections until reforms are implemented to stop this curse of rigged elections.

The people of Zimbabwe must never forget that MDC leaders were in fact given a solid plan to stop Zanu PF rigging elections; the primary 2008 Global Political Agreement (GPA) was about implementing a raft of democratic reform designed to stop a repeat of the blatant cheating and wanton violence that marred the 2008 elections. The task of implementing the reforms was left to Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends; they failed to implement even one reform in the five years of the 2008 to 2013 GNU.

When SADC leaders, who were the guarantor of the GPA, realized MDC had not implemented even one reform; they wanted the 2013 elections postponed until reforms were implemented. They told Tsvangirai and company "If you go into the elections next month, you will lose; the elections are done!" Tsvangirai and company paid no heed, Zanu PF went on to blatantly rig the 2013 elections.

If anyone thought the MDC leaders had learned the lesson, Chamisa, who had taken over the leadership of the main MDC faction after Tsvangirai's death, went on to participate in the 2018 election with no reforms in place. He claimed he had "stringent measures to stop the rigging", as noted above.

Of course, the obvious thing for MDC leaders to have done during the GNU was to implement the raft of democratic reforms; they did not implement even one reform because they, no doubt, had a better plan. And ever since the GNU debacle they have participated in the 2013 and then 2018 elections against advice not to until reforms are implemented. If will be foolish for the nation to allow ourselves to be dragging into yet another meaningless election process only basis of another mystery MDC plan!

If Mr Chamisa’s plan was worth anything then it should have included elements designed to stop Zanu PF rigging the 2023 elections and Chamisa should have implemented those elements by now. It is naïve to believe the laws to allow Zimbabweans in the diaspora to vote, for example, can be passed and the process of getting them to register can be done in the remaining two years. It is exactly two years left to the 2023 elections.

If the truth be told (and it must be told) Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends did not implement even one reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU because Robert Mugabe bribed them with the trappings of high office; the ministerial limos, the generous salary and allowances, the US$4 million mansion for Tsvangirai, etc., etc. With their snouts in the feeding troughs, MDC leaders forget about the reforms for five years of the GNU!

“Mazivanhu eMDC adzidza kudya anyerere!” (MDC people have learned to enjoy the gravy train good life; they will not rock the boat!) was the shared boast in Zanu PF circles when asked why MDC leaders were not implementing any democratic reforms.

Some of the MDC leaders like David Coltart did realise that participating in the flawed elections would only give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy and yet they still participated out of greed.

“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious – withdraw from the elections,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

“The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility.”

Nelson Chamisa and his MDC A friends will be participating in the 2023 election knowing fully well that Zanu PF is rigging those elections and that by participating the opposition will once again give legitimacy to the vote rigging Zanu PF. In other words, the sum total of Chamisa’s solid plan is to give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy and thus help perpetuate the dictatorship. Only Chamisa will consider that the “real change” Zimbabweans have risked life and limb for these last 21 years.

  1. 60 years ago this week USA Astronaut, Neil Armstrong, set foot on the Moon; “one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind!” Mankind has gone on further and send space crafts to explore our solar system and beyond.
Back on earth Scientists are identified the corona virus, so small three can have a rat-race on the edge of the sharped razor; they have managed to plunk off the hair-like growth on the virus like one plunking feathers off a chicken and surgical cut open the little devils to remove and sequence their genome. They have then used the knowledge to produce the vaccines in less than a year, a process that in the past took years, with which to help protect mankind.
Mankind is well and truthly in the space age, at least many nation are, we are not only lagging behind but drifting backwards, back to the stone ages and beyond. We in Zimbabwe have not only failed to hold free, fair and credible elections in the 41 years of our independence, we do not even know what constitutes free, fair and credible elections. The more everybody else has tried to explain what constitutes free and fair elections the more confused we have become and yet, in typical style of the ignorant, clamour louder than ever that we know!
Nelson Chamisa claims that he has a “solid plan” guaranteed to bring about the “real change” the Zimbabwe has been dying for. He will not say what the solid plan is nor what the real change will be. He proclaimed to have “stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the 2018 elections”. Some of us were not surprised when Zanu PF blatantly rigged those elections, we knew he had no measures just as we know now that he has no solid plan. It is all bluffing!
The real tragedy is the hundreds of thousands of his followers believed Chamisa had the stringent measure and hence the reason the participated in the 2018 elections. By participating, the people gave the vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuate the curse of bad governance.
Typical of the insane, the people have learned nothing from the past and so they once again believe Chamisa’s mythical solid plan, they will participate in the 2023 elections, give legitimacy to vote rigging Zanu PF and so perpetuate the dictatorship.
Chamisa and many of his fellow MDC leaders are lawyers, engineers, professors, etc., etc. and yet not even one of them had the common-sense to implement even one token democratic reform even when the party had the golden opportunity to do this during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. Chamisa and company have been participating in elections in which the Zanu PF operative have failed to produce some this as basic as a verified voters’ role.
Of course, Chamisa and company have participated in these flawed elections for the sake of winning the few gravy train seats Zanu PF is offering them as a bribe. Chamisa cannot tell his supporters the truth that they are participating in flawed elections out of greed and so, out comes hen’s teeth story, the mythical stringent measures, the solid plan.
Zimbabweans love boasting that the nation is one of the most literate nation on earth; 80% plus of the population can read and write. Stone age man could neither read nor write but had the common sense to appreciate the need for some basic rules such as respecting other people’s rights and the need to cooperate and thus laying the foundation of human civilization, common-sense. What good is it to be able to read and write when to you common-sense is as incomprehensible as rocket science to cave man!

  2. THE cash-strapped Douglas Mwonzora-led opposition MDC-T party has been forced to shut down its offices at the Morgan Richard Tsvangirai House after the Harare City Council cut water supplies over unpaid bills amounting to over $1,9 million.

The party has also failed to pay its workers since December, and they are now threatening to beat up top executives, including treasurer-general Tapiwa Mashakada, once they set foot at the offices

Sources told NewsDay that the party failed to clear salary arrears for employees who had gone for months without being paid, despite having received $29 million from government as part of the grants under the Political Parties (Finance) Act.

May be Mwonzora is holding out of the $1.9 million water bill because he expect Zanu PF government to write-off all outstanding local authority bills as one of its 2023 election give-away; the party did so in the past!

This is a circus and that is exactly what the nation gets for electing corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent individuals as leaders!

Heeesh so Damba does not know that a jojo tank is not a borehole it is just a water storage my foot nxaaa . As for Monzwora tge guy is incompetent but skelem when it comes to stealing. Well! Well! Not so many moons ago you were supporting Mwonzora and praising him to the high heavens and now you call him “incompetent and skellum”. Mwonzora is all those things and worse. And as for you, Mweembe, you have not had one of those Saul on the road to Damascus moments to finally see Mwonzora for the corrupt and incompetent rascal that he is; if you had your eyes finally opened then you would see that Nelson Chamisa, Tendai Biti and all the other MDC A leaders whom you continue to worship are corrupt and incompetent rascals too, same as Mwonzora.

Even though who have played no part in Zimbabwe's dirty political games are dying of hunger or some other poverty related ailment! By playing no part they have allowed those with no brain to rule and ruin the country and everyone is paying dearly for it"

No one is asking you to trust any politician; your duty as a citizen is to hold the politicians to democratic accout and ensure the country is ruled for the good of all and not the few ruling elite. Like it or not we are all paying dearly for the 41 years of corrupt and tyrannical rule!

"There will be no confusion, we don't put all eggs in one basket. We don't clumsily lay all our cards on the table. We don't flip the book open for them to counter us.
In this game you don't let the opposite know what the game plan is. We keep them stewing and guessing!#jointhenew," said Chamisa in a tweet."
"I really hope you don't expect the nation to evaluate on silence. If so, you may have a rude surprise. Many of us prefer policies, projections & strategies to mumbo jumbo in this tweet. It is very discouraging. How can silence factually be golden? This isn't a poetry slam," an irate Tsitsi Dangarembga tweeted.
Observers say the cover of silence points to a deeper problem within the MDC-A, they chased away the critical engine of the party and they are now left with sycophants who do not have much to contribute beyond slogans.
Zimbabwe is stuck in this hell-hole of our own making because for 41 years and counting the nation has failed to hold free, fair and credible elections; it is basic but may just as well be rocket science! The solution is to implement the democratic reforms designed to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friend failed to implement even one reform in 5 years of the 2008 to 2013 GNU when they had the golden opportunity to do so.
Chamisa, who took over the leadership of the largest MDC factions has no clue who to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections and has all but given up on this one. MDC leaders have been participating in the flawed elections for the sake of the few gravy train seats Zanu PF offered to entice the opposition to participate. By participating the opposition give the vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy.
Chamisa and company will never admit they are participating out of greed and so they keep coming with all these hen’s teeth story of top-draw secret solid plans that will stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. Chamisa cannot demand the implementation of reforms and so he pretends there are other secretive ways to get free and fair elections WITHOUT implementing reforms! Of course this is a con!

  5. There are reports of vaPostori dying following their gatherings in violation of covid-19 rules.

This is tragic. I have seen a video of a large gathering of vapostora and sitting in the midst Mnangagwa. None of them were wearing mask, no social distancing, nothing!

It is irresponsible on the part of the authority to allow these gathering to go ahead.

  6. Zanu PF has failed to revive the Zimbabwe economy and with its revenue base shrinking the regime is stopping the hyper inflation of 2008 returning by cutting funding to all public starting with those serving the poor. First came the cut to materials and then to personal. Zimbabwe's nurses and teachers must be among the lowest paid in the world and many of these workers have left the country in search of a living wage. Most of those still working for the regime are doing so only because there very no alternative employment.

The poor and those serving them have been jettisoned to keep up appearances of a still functioning regime.

It is laughable that Minister of Finance. Professor Mthuli Ncube, should still be wittering about the country attaining its upper middle income status by 2030, vision 2030. 49% of the country's population are now living in abject poverty and the figure is soaring upwards not falling and the this sorry state of affairs will not change as long as the country remains a pariah state. How can the country attain this vision 2030 when the overwhelming majority of our people are living in abject poverty?

“It's obvious why there is an everlasting obsession with Chamisa, the Zanu propagandists know exactly what he did to their illegitimate head of state in 2018!!!”
You still don't get it! Everyone said the elections should not go ahead until reforms are implemented to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. It was none other than Chamisa himself who insisted in participating because “MDC A has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections!”
Zanu PF did rig the elections and what is infuriating is that Chamisa is the one complaining the elections were rigged. Worst of all, MDC A is once again gearing to participate in the 2023 elections under the dubious claim that the party has a “solid plan” to win the election.
SADC, the Americans, the EU and many other nations are on record calling for Zimbabwe to implement the reforms before the elections. Of course, Zimbabweans are free to ignore the advice, but we should not complain the elections are rigged and expect the world to listen!

  8. "POLAD leaders got the Isuzu twin-cab from Zimbabwe government and not Mnangagwa," insisted Professor Madhuku.

In 2013 SADC leaders, literally, begged Morgan Tsvangirai and the rest of the MDC leaders not to go into the 2013 elections until democratic reforms are implemented to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. "If you go into the elections next month," they warned "you will lose; the elections are done!" MDC leaders disregarded the warning and participated in the elections because they were after the few gravy train seats they knew Zanu PF was giving away as bait.

They knew the "obvious" to have done was to heed the SADC advice but greed got the better of them, as David Coltart readily admitted in his book.

So, Nelson Chamisa and his MDC A, Lovemore Madhuku and the rest of the opposition politicians, participated in the 2018 elections knowing fully well that Zanu PF was rigging the elections and that by participating they will give credibility to the flawed process and give legitimacy to the vote rigging Zanu PF.
And so no one with even half a working brain took Chamisa’s attempt to withdraw the legitimacy the opposition had afforded Zanu PF by complaining that the later had rigged the elections because only an idiot would complain of something he and everyone knew was going to happen. Chamisa was being very childish, to say the least.

Mnangagwa is smart enough to know he needs the opposition to participate in elections for his legitimacy and is rewarding Professor Madhuku and all the others who were honest enough to publicly endorse his legitimacy after the 2018 rigged elections. Mnangagwa also knows the vehicles he has given to all the opposition leaders active in POLAD will whet the opposition politicians’ appetites; the 2023 elections will be a hotly contested affair.

The opposition will let Zanu PF rig the election to secure its 2/3 majority plus the presidency and fight each other fiercely over the bait seats, like jackals fighting over scraps at a lion’s kill.

The people of Zimbabwe have only themselves to blame for being conned by the opportunist opposition politicians into participating in the flawed and illegal elections on falsehood the opposition have devised “solid plans” to win rigged elections! How naïve and gullible some people are especially when the same lies have been repeated again and again since 2013!

Those who choose to be naive, gullible and follow blindly like sheep to the slaughter will suffer and many will die until they learn. The last 41 years have been tough for the people of Zimbabwe and, until they learn, the future promises to be just as grime!

  9. POLAD is a Mnangagwa project and those, like Madhuku, who agreed to participate are being rewarded. But let's face, POLAD is only a side show and damage was done by participating in the flawed and illegal elections. By participating in the flawed elections the opposition gave the vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy.

Zanu PF has offered a few gravy train seats for participating in these flawed elections and Chamisa and company won most of those seats. The reason why Chamisa refused to join POLAD is because he was hoping to pressure Mnangagwa into forming a new GNU in which Chamisa and his fellow MDC A leaders would get cabinet position.

Madhuku and all those in POLAD are gearing to participate in the 2023 elections and so too is Nelson Chamisa and his MDC A friends; they all know that participating will give the vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy. The real challenge here is to stop these opposition opportunists giving the vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy; as for POLAD it is a side-show of no relevance when the damage is done!

  10. Mnangagwa knew that Zanu PF was going to rig the 2018 elections and was running the risk of the election being declare null and void and be forced into another GNU arrangement as happened in 2008. His plan to avoid this was to offer the opposition a few gravy train seats to entice them to participate. It worked; there were 23 presidential candidates and 130 political parties contested for the parliamentary seats and there were thousands of independent candidates to boot! Like it or not no one can ever dispute the elections were rigged given the level of participation.
Zanu PF was guaranteed to win the 2/3 majority in parliament and senate plus the presidency, the party’s carte blanche powers to rig elections made certain of this. The opposition were fighting each other over the few gravy train seats.
Like it or not by participating the opposition gave legitimacy to the vote rigging Zanu PF.
Chamisa and his MDC A won most of the bait gravy train seats plus a share of the annual Political Party Finance Act pay-out.
Mnangagwa decided to reward all the presidential candidates who publicly indorsed his electoral victory and legitimacy by asking them to join POLAD and reward them a few goodies. Chamisa did not want to be counted with the other candidates because he felt he was entitled to much more than he had already. The idea that Chamisa could withhold legitimacy is foolish because the act of participating in the elections had given Mnangagwa legitimacy.
Mnangagwa is pampering POLAD leaders because he wants them to participate in the 2023 elections with renewed vigour. Chamisa and his MDC A will participate, they have their eyes on the bait gravy train seats!
There are those who consider the POLAD leaders sell-outs and the opposition politicians like Chamisa, Biti, etc. who participated in the 2018 and are set to do so again in 2023 angels – this is plain foolish because the real damage to the national cause, fighting for free, fair and credible elections, is done by participating in the elections and not in POLAD!
