Many grown up Zimbabweans "are more Zanu PF than Zanu PF parents" - more brain-dead than Zanu PF buffoons; it's true P Guramatunhu

"An untold but deep seated sociological truth about Zimbabwe today is that many grown up kids with ZanuPF parents are more ZanuPF than their parents. Therefore, Zimbabwe does not only need new leaders but it needs a Martin Luther King Jr. or a Kenneth Kaunda. God bless everyone!"

If by that he means the kids are have been brainwashed and therefore are more brain-dead than their parents, that I would readily concur with that. For one thing some one who had done standard six, equivalent to eight years of formal education was intellectually enlightened; they could think for themselves and talked sense.

Today the education system is all about quantity there is no quality; you are pushed to the next grade even if you learned nothing from the present grade.

I asked a job applicants "What is a verb?" "What is Pythagoras's theorem?" One after another they failed to answer and yet they claimed to have done "O" Mathematics and English; indeed some of them even said they had done one or two "A" level Science subjects.

There was even a PHD University graduate and he could hardly write a sentence without a spelling or gramma mistake!

Professor Jonathan Moyo played his part in brainwashing the people of Zimbabwe as Mugabe's Minister of Information and Publicity, Zanu PF propaganda reached new dizzying heights. The Zanu PF controlled public print and electronic media bombarded the nation with Zanu PF propaganda there was no room for anything else.

But to be absolutely certain he had stifled all meaningful public debate, Professor Jonathan Moyo engineered the passing of Public Order and Security Act (POSA) and the Information and Protection of Privacy Act  (AIPPA); two obnoxious laws that hang over the heads of all who dared exercise their freedom like the Sword of Damocles.

It is said, give a man fish and you give him a meal. Teach him to fish and you have given him a livelihood. Teach him to think for himself and, if anyone can survive wherever; he will do more than just survive, he will thrive!

The root cause of Zimbabwe’s economic and political mess is the country’s failure to hold free, fair and credible elections.

Forget asking Zimbabweans what is a verb or Pythagoras’s theorem! Ask them what constitute free, fair and credible elections; something that is simple and relevant to the nation’s very survival and their own.

Zanu PF has rigged elections for the last 41 years and got away with it every time precisely because Zimbabweans themselves have no clue what constitute free, fair and credible elections. They have the vote but, like everything else, in the wrong hands it is more a curse than a blessing.

By participating in flawed and illegal elections Zimbabweans are giving the flawed election process credibility and giving the vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy.

As Robert Mugabe, Emmerson Mnangagwa and the rest of the Zanu PF ruling elite; they are corrupt, incompetent and murderous buffoons. When they took over from the white colonialists, Zimbabwe produced enough to feed her own people, to be the breadbasket of the region and to earn a fortune in tobacco and meat export.

Today the nation is starving in a country that is for all intent and purpose the Garden of Eden - a damning testimonial in the sheer incompetence of the Zanu PF buffoons!

It is no exaggeration that 40 years of Zanu PF brainwashing has reduced Zimbabwe into a nation of dimwits whose brain tissue has ossified into fat after decades of mental slumber and inactivity.

“Grown up Zimbabweans are more Zanu PF than Zanu PF parents!” Sadly, it is true that many Zimbabweans out there are more brain-dead than Zanu PF buffoons who are lording over them!

  1. 41 years of Zanu PF corrupt and tyrannical rule has left the country is economic, social and political ruins; we can all see the closed companies and overgrown farms laying idle, the closed hospitals and the potholes in the roads and the heart breaking human suffering it has brought. What is not so easy to see and appreciate is the intellectual damage Zanu PF brainwashing has caused.

In January 2020 the MP for Chiredzi South reported of how the best performing schools in the area at Grade 7, Form 2, 4 and 6 had 3% pass rate with the majority recording 0%. This is a whole generation who have been denied formal education. What kind of citizens will they make?

Zimbabwe is in economic ruins; what hope is there is the country rising from the ruins when the overwhelming majority of the citizens have been denied the basic skills to think for themselves?

  2. The 2008 to 2013 GNU was not a product of Robert Mugabe and Morgan Tsvangirai agreeing to work together. The 2008 elections were held but failed to produce a legitimate government because of the blatant cheating and wanton violence by Zanu PF. Zanu PF claimed it was the winner but no one, including SADC and the AU, accepted it.

Zanu PF is rigging the 2023 elections already; the party has already denied 3 million Zimbabweans in the diaspora the vote, 3 million out of 8 million potential voters. No wonder there is a growing number of Zimbabweans who have no confidence in the elections.

If the 2023 elections go ahead with no reforms, things are heading that way, then the process must be declared null and void. This would pave the way for the formation of a new GNU with one important difference - this will be of competent men and women who will implement the democratic reforms.

  3. "As the MDC Alliance, we have come up with strategies and tactics that we believe are going to give us the much-needed win against Zanu-PF in rural areas," Chidziva said.

"We have designed specific programmes that are targeting rural voters.

"MDC Alliance is partnering with diasporans to raise the much-needed funds through an ‘adopt a polling station' initiative, these funds are going to be used to cater for all expenses that arise during the elections such as paying the election agents, food, transport, among other expenses."

To address the issue of voter apathy in rural areas especially among the youths, Chidziva said the opposition party's plan was to simply mobilise people to vote in their numbers and widen the gap so that it becomes difficult for Zanu-PF to rig.

For the 2018 Nelson Chamisa said “MDC A has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections!” Of course, he was lying.

It is clear that MDC A will always claim to have Winning In Rigged Elections (WIRE) strategies to justify why the party keeps participating in these flawed elections. MDC A is participating in the flawed elections for the same reason the party failed to implement even one reform during the GNU - greed.

By participating in flawed elections MDC is giving legitimacy to vote rigging Zanu PF but does care as long as it wins a few gravy train seats!

  4. The anti-graft body's spokesman John Makamure said: "We are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that we win the fight against corruption in the country."

He said as of September 3, Zacc had referred seven cases to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and seized properties worth US$2 884 000 (ZW$33 534 883).

Zacc is targeting to seize and forfeit 20 mansions valued at ZW$600 million (US$7 million) by the end of the year.

Some of the high-profile figures who have already lost houses include former police commissioner-general Augustine Chihuri, former Labour, Public Service and Social Welfare Minister Prisca Mupfumira and ex-Zimbabwe National Roads Authority (Zinara) chief executive officer Frank Chitukutuku. Others are former Foreign Affairs minister Walter Mzembi, Douglas Tapfuma, ex-principal director State Residences and Registrar-General Clement Masango.

Makamure said while they were targeting 180 dockets to the NPA for prosecution in 2021, as of September 3, 103 dockets had been submitted.

Zimbabwe is losing a staggering US$1.2 billion per year to gold smuggler alone; proof corruption is rampant and ZACC is making a mountain out of a molehill of its arrests.

“The only way you can be, and remain an effective Communicator Wilbert is to give your readers something new. Be innovative in your writing approach and content. You have all the right to be hard of hearing and remain stubborn, but this far what have you achieved with your repetitive articles, apart boring readers and losing readership?”

The root cause of Zimbabwe’s economic and political crisis is the failure to hold free, fair and credible elections. We have the opportunity to implement the democratic reforms and end the curse of rigged elections and MDC leaders sold out by failing to implement the reforms. MDC are compounding our situation by participating in rigged elections and giving Zanu PF legitimacy. Of course, it is insane to keep participating in flawed elections after 41 years of rigged elections.

The economic and political crisis has not gone away, indeed it is getting worse with 49% of our people now living in abject poverty. Many people still continue to follow Zanu PF and MDC blindly, etc. If you understood the seriousness of the situation then you too would talk about it all the time and, yes, repeat yourself over and over again; crisis has not changed and so are the causes and the solutions - so why should I change!

I am not here to entertain the readers, you and the others can do that; I am here to educate the ordinary Zimbabweans as best as I can. If I should be failing, trust me it will not be for lack of effort on my part!

“Any one remember how zbc tv and radios the herald and the chronicles lost their credibility viewers listeners and readers bcoz of those repeatedly played hondo yeminda jingles . Pple are easily pissed off by repeated and repeated heap of nonsense.”

If you are one of the 49% now living in abject poverty then you will be pissed off to hear the nation had the golden opportunity to end the Zanu PF dictatorship and some one sold-out! You would be furious to know the same village idiots who sold-out on reforms are the ones keeping Zanu PF in power by participating in flawed elections.

You will be a first class village idiot yourself if you should be pissed off by someone pointing out why you are in a mess and the way out!

  7. "Over the past year, we have seen a sustained and determined effort by the people's oppressors to undermine and destroy the movement," he said.

"This is because the oppressor despises a strong alternative. The oppressor prefers the outdated politics of the one-party state. The oppressor has used surrogates masquerading as opposition to impersonate us, usurp the people's assets and to expel people's lawfully-elected political representatives from elected bodies.

The one period when Zanu PF’s grip on absolute power was shaky was during the 2008 to 2013 GNU, the party had signed the Global Political Agreement (GPA) committing to the implementation of a raft of democratic reforms designed to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship.

SADC, who were the sponsor and guarantor of the GPA were as keen as mustard to see the reforms implemented; the continued Zimbabwean crisis was now a serious threat to the economic and political stability of the whole region.

In the end not even one single reform was implemented in the five years of the GNU and all because Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends turned out to be corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent. Mugabe must have got down on his knees to thank his demonic guardians for MDC; no doubt Mnangagwa is equally thankful.

"Over the past year, we have seen a sustained and determined effort by the people's oppressors to undermine and destroy the movement," said Chamisa.

All rubbish of course, the root cause of Chamisa’s political troubles was his unconstitutional seizure of the party leadership following Tsvangirai’s death.

  8. MDC stands for Movement for Democratic Change. The people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb to elect MDC leaders into power on the understanding the party will deliver the democratic changes to stop the Zanu PF dictatorship. It is now 22 years, 5 of which in GNU, and nothing has changed. Nothing!

MDC has failed to implement even one token democratic change and, indeed, the Zanu PF dictatorship is more secure now than ever; Zanu PF retained all its dictatorial powers after the GNU and now knows MDC will participate in flawed elections to give the regime legitimacy.

It is all very well for Nelson Chamisa and his fellow MDC leaders who have had their taste of the spoils of power to celebrate the existence of MDC, they would have never secured a seat on the gravy train with out it. There is nothing for the ordinary Zimbabwean to celebrate. Nothing! Not that Chamisa and company will ever notice that, they really don't give a damn, never did and never will!

  9. MDC Alliance deputy spokesperson Clifford Hlatywayo also said:

“2021 Anniversary Theme: Bringing citizens together to win Zimbabwe for change. Celebrating the people’s resilience and commitment to the struggle to attain a better Zimbabwe with equal opportunities.”

Name one democratic change MDC has brought in 22 years?

Ever since its launch MDC leaders have fought each other like hyena puppies and the last year has seen the factional fighting escalate to nauseating heights resulting in elected officials either being recalled of hanging on to their seats but have divided loyalty. MDC has always been a mediocre opposition but the factional fighting of the last year has rendered the MDC opposition utterly useless.

Zimbabwe is facing the trials and tribulations of the corona virus pandemic with a corrupt and incompetent Zanu PF regime as the ruling party and an utterly useless MDC opposition party - that is the stuff nightmares are made of!

  10. At 22, the movement is ripe for marriage with state power. For that to happen, the biggest task at hand now is to register voters en masse as we heard towards the next elections. We have to go out and vote in our numbers on the election dates and defend the sacred vote.

At 22, we have come out of age to control our own destiny.

So MDC had failed to get into power all these last 22 years because the party was NOT “ripe for marriage with state power”?

In 2008 Tsvangirai garnered 73% of the votes and that was not good enough to gain State House. The MDC is participating in the 2023 elections with no reforms in place confident of doing a lot better than winning 73% of the popular vote!

Of course, it is insane to participate in these flawed elections when all MDC will do is give Zanu PF legitimacy. Nelson Chamisa and the other leaders are after the few gravy train seats Zanu PF is offering to entice them to participate.

The people of Zimbabwe are the ones being short changed here. MDC has failed to implement even one reform in 22 years and is now the one keeping Zanu PF in power with the economic and political consequences there for all to see.

  11. @ Noah Manyika

“Political leaders must never forget that history is an open book, and that it would be a betrayal of the cause for people who are fighting for genuine change to unsee what they have seen and to unknow what they know. What do we know from the history of our own country? We know that wearied by Mugabe’s rule, many tragically believed that Mnangagwa, who is on record boasting that he prevented Mugabe from conceding after he lost the presidential election to Tsvangirai in 2008, not to mention his role in every atrocity the Mugabe regime was responsible for, could not possibly be as bad as Mugabe.

People also know that they are many in our own pro-democracy movement who want everyone to suspend their judgment and believe that it is not possible for it to breed archetypal African despots and corrupt and incompetent leaders, the evidence notwithstanding. As uncomfortable as it may be that it’s a coup leader in Guinea who is pointing out this fatal disease of “the personalization of political life” in African politics, it is dangerous for those in the pro-democracy movement to pretend that we Zimbabweans are immune from it.

    PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE.

Let us suppose that Condé was indeed different. What could have changed him? One of Zimbabwe’s Christian leaders is known for the simple but profound adage: “People are people.” Leaders are people, and leadership is a journey. The fact that a leader is not corrupt today does not make them incorruptible. Power and sycophantic adulation can corrupt anyone, which is why every leader, young or old, male or female, educated or uneducated, Karanga, Ndebele, Zezuru, Manyika, Black or White must be held to serious account before and when they come to power”

What are you wittering about! You participated in Zimbabwe’s 2018 elections even when it was clear that Zanu PF was rigging the elections. ZEC did not even have something as basic as a verified voters’ roll and still you guys were falling over each other in a mad rush to submit your nomination forms!

All you did by participating was give the vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy and, no doubt, if you were in Zimbabwe would too be driving D-Max Isuzu Twin-cab Truck, just one of the POLAD perks!

The 2023 elections are coming up, you are gearing up to participate; who knows you may be thinking of returning back home and a chance of winning one of the gravy train seats is irresistible!

The real tragedy for Africa is we have leaders whose greed know no bounds and do not even have common sense.

  12. AN independent election watchdog and a community public health civic group have called on the government to consider targeted Covid-19 vaccination programmes in vacant constituencies to pave the way for the holding of long overdue by-elections.

    LIZWE SEBATHA

Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga in October issued Statutory Instrument 225A of 2020, indefinitely suspending elections citing the Covid-19 pandemic. Incidentally, Zanu PF has not suspended the holding of its intra-party elections.

Why are we calling for elections/by-elections only to complain that Zanu PF rigged them? With no reforms in place Zanu PF will rig the elections, that much should be certain to all by now!

  13. Chaurura made the remarks on Thursday while representing the Zimbabwean ambassador to South Africa David Hamadziripi during the Southern African Liaison Office (Salo) virtual discussion on the ZSDP, which expires on December 31.

The meeting also deliberated on diaspora vote in the 2023 general election as well as vaccines for Zimbabwean migrants in South Africa. An estimated three million Zimbabweans are believed to be resident in South Africa.

In 2010, about 295 000 Zimbabweans applied for the permits and 245 000 successfully got the documents.

"As you might be aware, the government of South Africa granted the Zimbabwean special permits in 2010," Chaurura said.

The tragedy is these Zimbabweans are coming back home to a Zimbabwe that is even in a worse economic mess than they one they left behind. The nation should have used the slack the ZSDP afforded the nation to fix the country’s broken political system, the root cause of the country’s economic melt down. Sadly, we have done nothing and now we must face the consequences of our folly in doing nothing to fix our broken political system.

“It is our democratic right to vote with or without reforms you have no right to insult those who want to vote. You can avoid voting bcoz they are no reforms it is your right and stop making yourself a huge fool in front of everyone here by trying to force pple not to vote as if they are your children. Even your children if they are 18 yrs you cannot force them to do your will. 2023 siyaya baba ongafuniyo ayekhele. Next time respect our leader Nelson 2m votes its a joke. You are slowly becoming mdc alliance enemy.”

Zimbabwe is in a political and economic mess. If Zanu PF and/or MDC know what they were doing then we would not be in this mess. If you believe in democracy, as you claim you do, then you would know that all those in public office, that includes Nelson Chamisa MDC A President, are democratically accountable to the public. And I, Wilbert Mukori, am one of the public and will exercise that right and hold Zimbabwe’s corrupt and incompetent leaders to account for the mess and misery they have caused.

The people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb to elect MDC leaders on the understanding they would implement the democratic reforms and dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship. After 22 years, 5 of which in the GNU, MDC has failed to implement even one token reform. Not one!

To make things worse, MDC has been participating in flawed and illegal elections to give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy all because the MDC leaders are after the few gravy train seats Zanu PF is giving away as bait.

MDC leaders have proven beyond all reasonable doubt that they are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent; of course, they will be held to democratic account - watch this space!

  15. Zimbabwe's elections are not free, fair and credible and the idea that the opposition can win rigged elections, so flawed that winning 73% was not good enough, is absurd especially after 41 years of rigged elections. By participating in flawed elections, MDC is giving Zanu PF legitimacy. This is madness and it must be stopped!

  16. Zimbabwe's education service collapsed decades ago, starved of adequate funding. The pass rate in rural school dropped single digit decades ago and the students were pushed on to the next grade regardless. The corona virus pandemic has caused serious disruption to the nation's education, compounding the problem. How the nation can ever expect to recover with an illiterate populous beggars belief.

Yet we cannot even start to address the problem of educating our people as long as the nation remains stuck in this man-made hell-on-earth Banana Republic. Until we cure ourselves of the curse of rigged elections and bad governance, nothing of any substance has been accomplished these last 41 years and the future is grime.
