"Cannot change the past but future is in our hands" - nonsense, bright future secured by learning from the past N Garikai

“Before I begin my address, I kindly request the August House to observe a minute of silence in honour of the late Founding Father of our country and Former President His Excellency, Comrade R. G. Mugabe who passed on, on the 6th of September 2019.

“Before I begin my address, I kindly request the August House to observe a minute of silence in honour of the late Founding Father of our country and Former President His Excellency, Comrade R. G. Mugabe who passed on, on the 6th of September 2019," said President Mnangagwa.

“As we remember him, let us stand emboldened by the fact that we cannot change the past, but the future is in our hands.”

Yes we cannot change the past but that is not to say we should not interrogate the past boldly and rigorously with the view of learning all the lessons from the past, good and bad.

To declare the late Robert Mugabe a national hero is proof those making this declaration had not been thorough in their examination of the man. Mugabe was a corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous tyrant and history will judge him as such!

We know why some people are keen to “Let bygones be bygones!”; they fear that a thorough expose of Mugabe’s tyrannical past will expose their own part in the corruption, vote rigging and murders. We must therefore dismiss the nonsense of airbrushing the past under the pretext we cannot change it.

Zimbabwe is in a real economic and political mess because of decades of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF rule; millions have suffered, over 30 000 have been murdered in cold blood for political gain and hundreds of thousands more lives have been lost as the result of the decades of bad governance.

We can help end the suffering and stop more people becoming victims and save future lives being wasted by learning all we can from the thorough, no holds-barred study of this monster called the Zanu PF dictatorship and the principle dictator, Robert Gabriel Mugabe.

Yes, "the future is in our hands" but if it is to be a better future compared to the last four decades of hell-on-earth then we must make sure we do not repeat the mistakes that land us in this hell-hole. Calling a corrupt and murderous tyrant a hero is the first sign we have learnt nothing from the past!

Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa has pleaded for time and patience to bring the country's economy back from the "dead", as his government faces blame for surging inflation that evokes dark days under late former leader Robert Mugabe.

The Zimbabwe economy has been in decline for the last 39 years, Mnangagwa was a senior member of the regime throughout these 39 years although he is denying it now. Since taking over things have not improved, indeed have got even worse. He is dragging the economy deeper into the abyss but, as usual, will never admit.

The truth is Zimbabwe is stuck with a corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical regime that has rigged elections to stay in power. The only way out is for this Zanu PF regime to step down so the country has a chance to elect a competent government!

You have hit the nail bang on the head right there! “Wabaya gudo mukunwa!” as one would say in Shona.

Mnangagwa does not want the truth of the Zanu PF corruption, incompetence and political oppression, proving that their motive in fighting the liberation war was indeed for the mercenary reward and not the heroic altruism they keep proclaiming from the roof tops.

It is ironic that Mnangagwa and his fellow Zanu PF thugs are keen as mustard to go into great detail about their heroic exploits before independence but want us to forget the immediate past of the post independence era although, of course, they are careful to make sure they keep their looted wealth.

Only last week Mnangagwa wanted it known that he is a “man of honour” and will give Grace Mugabe the title deeds to the Blue Roof mansion!

Learning from yesterday, today acts prudently lest by his actions he spoils the future!

Zimbabwe’s last four decades were hell-on-earth and we must rigorously cross examine what went wrong, learn from it and make damn sure this never happens ever again. We must ignore the foolishness of empty heads whose insatiable greed for power and wealth dragged us into this hell in the first place and whose only interest now is to escape justice!

The worst thing we can ever do is to deny ourselves a better future because we were foolish enough to listen to a village idiot masquerading as a philosopher complete with a colour scarf!

  3. A section of Zimbabweans has launched an online petition to the Canadian government to deport one of ZANU PF's internet propaganda team (Varakashi)  Jones Musara over supporting a party that is alleged to  be abusing human rights in Zimbabwe.

"Like any other human being I have the right to freedom of movement. I go back and forth to Zimbabwe and Canada whenever I want and will continue to do so for as long I want. I have the right to freedom of movement just like any other human being." Musara said. "From Zimbabwe, I will be in Canada by midday this Saturday. Toda kuwedzera kurakasha mhandu tirimo imomo muNorth America and West at large for now..belly of the beast."

Activist Thandekile Moyo said she is supporting the petition against Musara.

"Now that's a petition I would sign over and over again. Why should someone be praising a Government that's oppressing us from the comforts of another country. He must come and experience what we're experiencing. These backers of the regime must be held accountable for their roles.”

People like Musara and his masters in Zimbabwe want the usual freedoms and rights promised in the UN Declaration of Human Rights but having secured their own freedoms and rights they have no qualms denying everyone else the same. Indeed, they believe the sure way to secure their freedoms and rights is by denying everyone else the same freedoms and rights.

Musara’s boastful arrogance is insulting but in the scheme of things he is small fish. There are big fish like ministers Professor Mthuli Ncube and Kirsty Coventry, Trevor Ncube and his fellow PAC members, etc. propping up the corrupt and tyrannical regime day and night. Go after the big fish and the regime will fall.

Musara and his fellow apologists are nothing more than annoying ticks brought in by the marauding hyenas - get rid of the hyenas and jackals, ticks, smell, etc. will disappear.

  4. Have you ever heard of something called rigged elections?

Just because we have corrupt and incompetent opposition politicians who will participating in elections knowing fully well that the process is flawed and illegal does not mean the elections are free, fair and credible.

THe EU, Commonwealth and everybody with any democratic credential said last year's elections were rigged. Our opposition parties participated regardless for their own selfish reasons!
