Chamisa lets ED rig vote but will stop ED win elections with "mountain moving legal team!" N Garikai

In his desperation effort to win political office the MDC Alliance presidential candidate, Nelson Chamisa, has promised the people of Zimbabwe bullet trains travelling at 400 km/hour, running on NRZ’s dilapidated network. The fastest commercial train is the Shanghai Maglev with a top speed of 427 km/hour. He has also promised spaghetti junctions and airport galore at growth points to rival the 50 km Mugabe High Way to the tyrant’s Vimba rural home. I travelled down that High Way soon after it was completed and all the traffic I came across was a scot-cart!

Once Chamisa had hit the grove, he was getting carried away. He was promising Zimbabwe would host the next Football World Cup and Olympic Games! It has taken years to bring him down to earth and focus.  

It has taken months of constantly hammering it in to get Chamisa to accept the political reality that primary reason MDC had so far failed to gain political power was because Zanu PF rigged the elections. With Zanu PF’s checked record of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption the people of Zimbabwe would elect anyone just to rid themselves of Zanu PF. The real challenge for MDC was not so much about selling Chamisa’s fantasia world but stopping Zanu PF rigging the elections.

The best option was to demand that Zanu PF must implement the raft of democratic reforms designed to take away the regime’s carte blanche dictatorial powers to rig the vote. The reforms were agreed at the onset of the 2008 GNU and it was MDC’s primary responsibility to get the reforms implemented. MDC leaders, Nelson Chamisa was one of the MDC ministers in the GNU, failed to get even one reform implemented. One would have thought MDC leaders had learned the lesson of that folly following the rigged July 2013 elections and would all be demanding the implementation of the reforms.

Instead of demanding reforms before 2018 elections, Chamisa insisted the elections will go ahead as “MDC had stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections!”

As the 2018 election date approached it has become increasing clear that MDC’s “stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections” were just hot air! Now with just 3 days before voting day we hear Chamisa has appointed a crack team to stop Zanu PF stealing the votes.

"We have put together all necessary legal strategies and instruments to ensure that your vote counts and is secured," announced Harare Lawyer said Thabani Mpofu, who is heading Chamisa’s team of experts.

"I would have you know, fellow Zimbabweans that your votes, as sharp instruments, will reduce the swindling power of evil chaff and with your assistance they cannot be negated by any rigging mechanism, however, pernicious. Go vote, your vote shall count."

Mpofu was reported confident “that the MDC Alliance leader would triumph even amid protests that the electoral playing field remains tilted in favour of Zanu-PF.”

In other words, going into Monday 30 July 2018 voting day, MDC acknowledges that Zanu PF is set to rig the elections. MDC’s strategy is that Zanu PF will rig the vote and, somehow, lose the elections! I would rather bet on Chamisa’s fantasia bullet train zapping at 400km/hour from Bulawayo to Harare on NRZ’s dilapidated railway and getting there in one piece than on ED rigging the vote and losing the elections.

For President Mnangagwa, VP Chiwenga and all the other Zanu PF junta members there is a lot more at stake in these elections than just their love of absolute power and all the influence and wealth that comes with it. Their necks are on the line! The junta knows that this vote is ipso facto a referendum on whether the nation approved last November’s military coup!

Robert Mugabe and his G40 faction member has made no secret of their support of MDC. If MDC was to win on Monday, G40 will be boasting to no end of the critical role they played in securing that victory. Like Herodias’ daughter, Salome, G40 faction will feel it has performed its seductive dance and for its reward it wants the crocodile’s head in a silver platter!

President Mnangagwa and his junta friends risked life and limb to stage the military coup to topple Mugabe. They had no qualms about rigging these elections, after all this is not something new as they are the ones who masterminded and executed all the vote rigging and the politically motivated murders to keep Zanu PF and Mugabe in power all these years.

To run the risk of blatantly rigging the vote and then still go on to lose the elections is simply unthinkable. ED and the junta will never make such a mind numbing blunder. Never!

"The necessary assurances from the security apparatus are at hand as they exist as a matter of law. Power will be relinquished. Power will be taken, even though mountains be moved, albeit, this shall be a peaceful and tranquil process," said the captain of Chamisa’s mountain moving legal team, Mpofu.

Mpofu would not say what the crack team will do just as Chamisa never said what the stringent measures were. Top draw secrets! Usually that means no one has a clue what to do next!

Out goes Chamisa’s “stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the vote”; they completely failed to stop the vote rigging. In comes Chamisa’s mountain moving legal team whose task is not to stop Zanu PF rigging the vote, it is water under the bridge, the team must stop ED winning the elections.

These elections should have never gone ahead without first implementing the reforms!

The only way out of this mess is to completely ignore MDC. We must demand that these flawed and illegal elections must be declared null and void, demand the implementation of democratic reforms agreed at the onset of the 2008 GNU followed by the holding of free, fair and credible elections. We must now end this charade of rigged elections which is the root cause of the nation’s economic and political mess!   

MDC is broke, begging just to feed election agents vs big-spender Zanu PF - KO before the vote P Guramatunhu

“Zimbabweans we need your help to finish the struggle. We still need your hand in feeding our polling agents. Donate $5 and adopt one election agent. We have a total of 45 000 elections agents throughout the country.” Twittered MDC-T deputy treasury general Mr Chalton Hwende.

And MDC is competing against Zanu PF, the party that has so much money it has bought each and every one of its 210 MP candidates, 89 Senator candidates, each provincial chairperson of the party’s Youth, Women and main wings in all 10 provinces plus a whole army of other party officials other key individuals brand new motor vehicles. The party is spending millions of dollars more on a multitude of its vote-rigging schemes including millions paid to NIKUV, the Israeli vote rigging specialists, many PR companies chaining out articles praising ED as the greatest leader the world has ever seen, etc.

Zanu PF is so loaded, it the 2013 elections, the party gave each party MP and Senate candidate $10 000 spending money plus all the campaign materials. The party, not the candidate, paid all the Zanu PF election agents generous allowances.

If every dollars in cash and kind Zanu PF has spent on keeping the party in power at all cost in the last five years was added up is will be over $ 4 billion, ease! The MDC and all the other opposition parties, all 130 of them, would count themselves very rich if they have spent $4 million in the same period!

Zanu PF is out spending all its competitors $4 billion to $4 million or 1 000 to 1!

The disparity in political party funding alone is so vast it is impossible to see how these elections can ever be judge fair! What has turned this political party funding business from a hard to swallow hot potato to one deadly to swallow because it is laced with deadly poison is where Zanu PF is getting most of its billions of dollars.

It is no secret that Zanu PF is getting billions of dollars to bankroll its vote-ring and vote-buying party activities from state coffers and the wholesale looting going on in Marange and Chiadzwa diamond fields. Most of the country’s basic services such as supply of clean running water, education and health care have all but collapsed because of decades of poor funding. Most provincial hospitals do not have a reliable ambulance service (the situation is a lot worse in their satellite hospitals and clinics), for example.

So, this Zanu PF government has no money to buy just one ambulance to meet the needs of 1.5 million people in each province but has cash to buy a comparable vehicle for each of the 28 Zanu PF MP and Senate candidates, 28 chiefs and 10 Zanu PF leaders. Zanu PF is robbing the ordinary people blind to finance it vote rigging activities so it can stay in power and continue robbing the nation blind. I cannot think of anything more nauseating than that!

The MDC dragged the nation into these flawed elections, with no reforms in place, on the promise that the party “has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections,” as Nelson Chamisa has often claimed. As we can see none of the stringent measures have done anything to stop Zanu PF robbing the nation blind! How can this be a fair contest when one candidate is out spending the competition 1 000 to 1?

Zanu PF is robbing the people of Zimbabwe blind to pay for its devilish schemes to deny the people the vote so it can continue robbing them blind!

Enough is enough! We must stop this madness of holding utterly meaningless elections!

These elections should not have taken place without first implementing the democratic reforms designed to stop Zanu PF looting the nation’s resources and using the ill-gotten proceeds to rig elections.

Whilst there is nothing anyone can do to stop these 30 July 2018 elections going ahead, it is too late for that. What we can do make sure it is clear that we do not approve of these elections, never did, and we want the whole charade declared null and void.

We want the nation to revisit the raft of democratic reforms agreed on the onset of the 2008 GNU and make sure that, this time, all the reforms are implemented.

Do not both trying to vote on Monday because Zanu PF has already won these elections given all the electoral advantages Zanu PF; the many vote rigging opportunity because there is no verified voters’ roll, the disproportionate funding, etc. Zanu PF has won these elections long before the first ballot was cast.

By participating in Monday voting people will not change the predetermined Zanu PF landslide victory, they will give the process credibility. They will be thanking Zanu PF for robbing them blind and denying them the vote!

Coltart accuse international of "white-washing" rigged elections - who supplied the white-wash, MDC N Garikai

“Coltart accuses international community of 'white-washing' Zim election!” screamed the headlines in Bulawayo 24!

Yes, it is very true that there are some sections of the international community who would “white-wash” these flawed and illegal elections by judging them free, fair and credible for their own selfish reasons. But if the truth must be said, it MUST be said, it is the corrupt and incompetent MDC leaders like David Coltart who have provided these foreigners all the white-wash and free labour!

“It (MDC Alliance) has also raised concerns over the quality of the voters roll. An opposition-aligned group of analysts, TeamPachedu,  claims that up to 900 000 records on the roll had been tampered with,” continued the report.

"The international community needs to know that these are not superficial concerns. These are valid concerns based on the breach of the law," Coltart said in comments carried by the private Daily News.

True these are not superficial concerns and there are a whole host of other concerns equally important such as ZEC’s failure to release a clean and verified voters’ roll at least one month before nomination day, as is required by law. It is all very rich for Mr Coltart to ask the international community not to sweep these very serious issues under the carpet when that is exactly what he and his MDC friends have done!

MDC Alliance KNEW that ZEC had not released the voters’ roll even by nomination day, 14 June, but they all pretended not to notice and they all lodged their nomination papers.

Today, we are just 4 days away to voting day and still ZEC has not released credible, clean and verified voters’ roll and still the MDC Alliance members are all as keen as mustard to participate in these elections regardless!

If Zanu PF knew that MDC leaders will NOT participate in the elections no verified voters’ roll, for example; they would have seen to it that it was released. As things are, Zanu PF knew MDC would participate in the elections regardless of ZEC failing to release the voters’ roll and so, surprise, surprise, there is no voters’ roll. Common sense, really!

MDC leaders had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms designed to take away Zanu PF’s carte blanche powers to rig the elections during the GNU. They failed to implement even one reform in five years.

“MDC believed it had the numbers to overwhelm all Zanu PF’s vote rigging shenanigans!” the late MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai confessed soon after Zanu PF blatant rigging to secure another landslide victory in the 2013 elections.

"If we believe in the rule of law then we must believe in the rule of law; everyone, including the international community," Coltart, a lawyer by profession, pontificated!

To these corrupt and incompetent MDC leaders: the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections are not necessary as long as MDC feels confident it will win the elections. However if MDC should lose the elections then all hell breaks loose. They will complain of “Zanu PF stealing the elections!” and accuse SADC and the international community of “white-washing” the flawed process.

For umpteenth time Mr Coltart; these elections not be taking place, not without first implementing the democratic reforms setting out the ground rules to ensure free, fair and credible election. Those who agree to taking part in the elections with no reforms in place are, per se, agreeing to playing with no rules and therefore must not complain, after they have lost, that the opponents broke the rules!

Zanu PF is set to rig these elections and, by agreeing to take part with no reform in place, MDC have provided the smoke screen the regime need to hide the blatant vote rigging.

One only hopes the international community will not punish the whole of Zimbabwe because of MDC leaders’ repeated blundering incompetence in participating in these flawed elections with no reforms. The international observers cannot, in all honesty, pretend these elections are free, fair and credible when the regime has failed to provide something as basic as a credible, clean and verified voters’ roll.

What the long suffering people of Zimbabwe want from SADC and the international community is for them to declare these elections null and void. By doing so they will give this nation a chance to revisit the raft of democratic reforms agreed at the onset of the 2008 GNU and, this time, make sure all the reforms are implemented.

Please! Please! Give us a chance to get out of this hell-on-earth that Zanu PF and its acolyte MDC partner have landed us. Please, we beg of you!
