Mnangagwa forced Manjonga to jump from 3rd floor, Moyo reveals - drip of truth will be a flood N Garikai

The Zanu PF factional war is escalating by the day and now the big guns are trading blows. Professor Jonathan Moyo, a known G40 faction leader, took centre stage at a recent Zanu PF politburo meeting.

“Higher and Tertiary Education minister Jonathan Moyo told the Zanu PF politburo that Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa was allegedly behind the torture of a rival suitor, who was left disabled, a video presented at the crunch meeting has revealed,” reported Zimeye.

“A fortnight ago, Moyo was given the platform by Mugabe to prove his allegations that Mnangagwa was plotting against the 93-year-old ruler.

Moyo allegedly charged that “a person that is known for threats and intimidation and forcing a man to choose between jumping from the third floor of a building or sitting on a hot stove does not represent the nature and character of our party, Zanu PF.”

Mnangagwa was reportedly very dismissive of Moyo’s whole presentation. This was just tit for tat stinking of the hypocrisy of the pot calling the pan black!

How does the ill treatment of Manjonga, three decades ago, translate into a plot against Mugabe today?

If Professor Moyo thought that revealing Mnangagwa’s serious human rights violation and abuse of office proves the latter is unsuitable to hold high public office, then he is right. But what the nation will demand to know from the “Nutty” Professor is why he had not revealed the details of the abuse until now and, more significantly, what other incriminating information on not just Mnangagwa but anyone else is he holding back?

Professor Moyo is spilling the beans on what Mnangagwa did to Manjonga is in retaliation for all the leaked information on the $400 000 Moyo looted. Professor Moyo and President Mugabe himself should know that Mnangagwa has a truck-load of dirty on the two, a lot more damaging than the looted $400 000, and that is why he was not even bothered about the Manjonga story.

Unlike the naïve, incompetent and corrupt simpleton Joice Mujuru who was “baby dumped” in the party’s factional war in 2014; Mnangagwa will not be an ease push-over.

Many, many horrible things have happened in Zimbabwe, ranging from the serial looting of the nation’s resources, the vote rigging and the murder of over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans to establish and retain the de facto one-party dictatorship. The regime’s leaders including President Mugabe, Mnangagwa and even Professor Moyo have all played their part in all these high treason crimes against the nation. And one of these fine days, they will be held to account for it.

The people of Zimbabwe are not naïve and stupid, Professor Moyo; we know you are being very selective in your tell-tale. We want the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth not just from you Professor on Mnangagwa but on everybody else, the truth from Mnangagwa on you and everybody, etc.

We know as long as Zanu PF remains in power the whole truth will remain a mirage, this is why we want the democratic reforms implemented followed by the country’s first free, fair and credible elections.

The only positive this about escalating factional war in Zanu PF is heralding the beginning of the end. The drip-drip leaks of the truth of a few years ago have now turned into a steady flow and soon to become an unstoppable flood. Zanu PF is rotten to the core, the centre cannot hold and the party is imploding.

Morgan Tsvangirai betrayed the nation by failing to implement the democratic reforms during the GNU; Zanu PF imploding is presenting the nation with another golden opportunity to get the reforms finally implemented. Regime change is now as certain as the sun rising tomorrow!

In trying to "baby dump" Mnangagwa Grace Mugabe will be crashed like a bug. Wilbert Mukori

Grace Mugabe tells VP Mnangagwa he is only an appointee serving at Mugabe’s pleasure and therefore can be fired at the drop of a hat. She too is any appointee but one Mugabe cannot easily fire.

"If we (the political appointees) go wrong, you (President) can remove us from our positions anytime you like," said Grace.

"But inini chimwe chigaro chandiinacho cheudzimai hwenyu chinonetsa kubhisa. Tinenge takuenda kutoenda kumacourt. Mukada kundiramba tinenge takuenda kucourt ndakatsika madziro (But I, as someone who also occupies another position as your wife, it is difficult to remove me. If you dare try to divorce me, you are in for a bruising fight in the courts)."

Mai, oh mai! Grace is really going straight for the jugular vein. She wants Mnangagwa fired just as she wanted Mujuru fired.

In 2014 Grace Mugabe wanted the then VP Joice Mujuru “baby dumped” so badly she literally went berserk. Her accusations against Mujuru were both hysterical and outrageous. Mai Mujuru was accused of being lazy, incompetent and corruption.  Who in Zanu PF is not corrupt? As for her being incompetent; was that not the reason why Robert Mugabe appointed her VP just as he has with VP Simon Muzenda and many others? Mugabe has surrounded himself with the most incompetent individuals he could get because they are the least likely to challenge him for the top job.

Compared to Muzenda, Mujuru and the rest of his “vakadzi vaMugabe” (Mugabe’s subservient concubines) cabinet members, as Margaret Dongo called them, Mugabe has always appeared the genius per excellence!

Grace accused Mujuru of “factionalism” and plotting to assassinate Mugabe and become president. “Factionalism” was a nonsense charge. Zanu PF was going to hold an elective congress in December 2014 and Mai Mujuru had managed to get 8 out of 10 party provinces to back her bid for VP post. Emerson Mnangagwa, who was interested in the same post, got the backing of the remaining two provinces. How else was she supposed to canvass for support? And why should she be guilty of “factionalism” and yet her challenger who has done the same thing is not?

As for the assassination plot, the charge disappeared with no one ever questioned or arrested as soon as Mai Mujuru and her supporters were booted out of the party and government.

Grace Mugabe made no secret of the fact she was interested in succeeding her husband as president. If Mai Mujuru had been elected VP at the congress, she would have been in line to be president after Mugabe – that is why Mujuru had to be baby dumped.

It was not possible for Grace to get herself name in the hat for any of the two VP posts going. The next best thing she did was to make sure the two posts were filled by appointment and not by an elective process, hence the reason Grace is calling VP Mnangagwa an “appointee”.

Since the ouster of Joice Mujuru, Grace Mugabe (with the covert support of her husband) has been trying to build up her own support base, G40 faction, with the view of challenging Mnangagwa as Mugabe’s successor. The G40 faction has failed to get much traction in the party, other than women’s and youth leagues (they make a lot of noise but wield little power and influence) and in other key national organs such as war veterans and the security services.

It is doubtful whether the G40 faction would ever add up to much even if Grace Mugabe was given more time to build it. The truth is with Mugabe’s health failing and next year’s elections coming up, etc. Grace had no choice but to make her bid to succeed her husband now or be overtaken by events. She has clearly decided to go for it and, as we can see, is going straight for the jugular vein!

Grace Mugabe has enjoyed her highflyer, palace and Gucci shoes lifestyle for decades and the thought of giving all that up has her fired up like a bombardier beetle. Whilst the beetle’s hot caustic fumes are too much for even a starving frog; the insect would be unwise to count pulling off the same trick on the crocodile – those jaws will snap shut so fast, the bug will be crash before it can load, aim and fire!

“Baby dumping” a frog was one thing, a crocodile ….. I do not think so!

Grace Mugabe managed to get Joice Mujuru baby dumped is just four months. She has been trying to do the same with Emerson Mnangagwa for the last four years now and she is finding the task a lot tougher. She has is going for the jugular vein but may find herself being crashed like a bug.

For Zanu PF to remain in power the party will have no choice but to once again rig next year’s election the vote. If Grace got her wish and Mugabe baby dumped Mnangagwa; rigging the election in which Tsvangirai or Mujuru are the opponent is ease, not so with Mnangagwa because he, unlike the other two, KNOWS how past elections were rigged! He and a number of his supporters master-minded and/or executed the vote rigging schemes.

To win next year’s elections against Mnangagwa, Mugabe will have to walk a tight rope spanning 100m, a hundred storeys high, with no safety net. To really spice up the act, Mutsvangwa and his rogue war veterans and General Chiwenga and the other security sector chefs (they are all in the Mnangagwa camp, it is too late for them to switch allegiance and their goose is cooked if G40 faction prevail) will be peppering the tyrant with stones and other missiles. And it will be none other than Mnangagwa himself hacking away at the rope with as if his very life depends (which it will probably do) on him cutting the rope in less than 8 seconds (not even Usain Bolt ran 100m is that time)!

Even if Mugabe and his wife were able to outfox Mnangagwa and his supporters just the tyrant has outfoxed him in the past; Zanu PF will not be out of the woods yet.

SADC leaders have watched with alarm how Zanu PF has failed to revive the Zimbabwe economy after rigging the July 2013 elections. They know another rigged election will send the Zimbabwe economy into even deeper economic trouble threatening the political stability of not just Zimbabwe but the whole region. They will be watching the elections like a hawk and will not hesitate condemning the results, just as they did after the 2008 elections.

President Mugabe’s reign was doomed to end in failure the end the tyrant decided to turn Zimbabwe into a de facto one-party cum one-man dictatorship. It is ironic that his fate was hastened by the insatiable greed for power, wealth and influence of his wife Grace! In her reckless pursuit of power she took on Emerson Mnangagwa – he is not nicknamed crocodile for his good looks alone and she is nothing but a bug!

"Mugabe is not Zimbabwe," MDC reprimands Grace - empty words mocked by reality. P Guramatunhu

Zimbabwe is sitting of the knife edge of the abyss, one false move and the country would tumble down. 37 years of gross mismanagement, rampant corruption, vote rigging and murderous tyrannical rule have left the country’s once promising economy in ruins, unemployment has soared to 90% plus, Zanu PF’s own Minister of Welfare has admitted that 72.3% of the population now live in poverty, etc. This is socially and politically unsustainable; the need to do something constructive and urgently to revive the economy, end the people’s heart-breaking economic and thus step back from the abyss is the single most important matter on the nation’s agenda.

If Zimbabwe’s next elections are transparent, free, fair and credible the nation will heave a huge sigh of relief that will echo round the globe because the country would have taken its very first step back from the edge. Only a democratically elected government that is accountable to the people will have the political will and mandate to start addressing the mismanagement, corruption, etc. that have landed us in this dangerous situation.

However, if next year’s elections are rigged signalling that nothing has changed, the gross mismanagement, rampant corruption, etc. will continue as before; this will be the final push to send the nation over the edge. The people have suffered in silence for nearly four decades now, there is a limit to how much misery anyone can endure before they finally lash out. The prospect of another five years of Zanu PF misrule and abject poverty will concentrate the people’s minds. The cup is full to overflowing!

No one can say when exactly the people’s dammed up anger will finally burst but burst it will. And when it does, it will send a wall of water, mud, rock and uprooted trees two storeys high and kilometres wide which will sweep all before it.

The consequences of another rigged election in Zimbabwe are just too gustily to contemplate.
This is why we must do everything in our power to ensure Zimbabwe’s next elections are free and fair. If we fail to stop the elections going ahead with no reforms in place, then the whole process must be shown for what it is – a sham election – and thus declared null and void.

It is most disheartening that both Zanu PF and the opposition led by Morgan Tsvangirai continue to behave in their usual reckless manner oblivious of the people’s suffering, the precarious position the country is in and, most important of all, the critical importance to ensure the next elections are free and fair. In Zanu PF the factional war to decide who will take over from President Mugabe is all the regime is interested in.

“There is no succession which will take place without the involvement of Mugabe. I know the president says: ‘No, no, I don’t want to impose a candidate”, comment Grace Mugabe.

“But I have always argued with him that you have a role, you have the right to be part of that process. Because we respect him, his word will be final. Mark my words, his word will be final. I am asking him right now in your presence. Don’t be afraid, tell us which candidate we should back.”

Of course, President Mugabe is lying, he has imposed himself on his party and the nation. He has had millions of Zimbabweans beaten and/or raped and over 30 000 murdered in cold blood to establish and retain the de facto one party dictatorship so he could ride roughshod over the people’s freedoms, rights and dreams. Grace Mugabe wants her husband to name her his successor and thus impose her as the next dictator.

No one in Zanu PF is even concerned about next year’s elections because they know the party will once again rig the vote to secure another landslide victory. With not even one democratic reform in place, so the party retains its undemocratic control over every aspect of the electoral process. The party’s war chest full of cash, looted from the diamond bounty, to bankroll all its multifaceted and expensive vote rigging schemes; etc. Victory for Zanu PF in next year elections is given.

The total chaos and confusion in the opposition camp fuelled by greed has only made Zanu PF even more arrogant, confident the party’s political dominance makes it the only serious political player in the land. Zanu PF’s refusal to concede to even one token reforms since the July 2013 rigged elections has left the opposition with excuse for contesting the flawed elections, other than greed.

“As we approach the 2018 harmonised elections, the MDC would like to emphasize the need for the holding of free and fair elections to enable the people of Zimbabwe to choose a government that is legitimate and democratic,” was Obert Gutu’s, MDC-T spokesman, response to Grace Mugabe outburst.

“We will not tolerate the notion that Robert Mugabe, somehow, has got a God - given and sacred role to appoint whoever is going to be the next President of Zimbabwe. Indeed, Zimbabwe is not Robert Mugabe and Robert Mugabe is not Zimbabwe.”

How utterly predictable and utterly stupid!

As long as President Mugabe continue to exercise his tyrannical powers; looting billions of dollars of State wealth to bankroll his vote rigging schemes whilst millions of people wallow in poverty and anguish; then, for all intent and purpose, Robert Mugabe is Zimbabwe. And, which is more, the tyrant is set to pass on his dictatorial powers to his success.

MDC-T could and should have ended Mugabe’s tyrannical powers by implementing the reforms; they failed to get even one reform implemented in five years of the GNU.

By participating in the flawed July 2013 elections, Zanu PF blatantly rigged to stay in power; MDC-T gave the process the modicum of political legitimacy. SADC leaders warned Tsvangirai & co. that all these would happen and, literally begged they not to contested the elections but, of course, MDC paid no heed.

MDC-T and all their friends in the opposition camp are gearing themselves to contest next year’s elections knowing fully well that not even one reform was implemented since the rigged July 2013 elections. They are doing this contrary to SADC leaders warning not to contest flawed elections and in disregard of the opposition’s own “No reform, no election!” pledge.

What is the point of MDC-T claiming, “Zimbabwe is not Robert Mugabe” when the party is doing nothing to stop him doing as he please! Indeed, MDC leaders’ blundering incompetence has helped Mugabe consolidate his iron grip on power and by continuing to contest flawed elections they are giving the vote rigging the veneer of legitimacy.

Zimbabwe is in a serious economic and political mess and, today, the threat of the country descending into social and political chaos is real and eminent. It has taken nearly four decades for the nation to get here, we should have done something about but wasted many opportunities to do so. We are staring down into the dark, dangerous and unforgiving abyss. This is our last-minute chance to step back and all we must do is make sure our next elections are free, fair and credible.

Zimbabwe is standing on the edge of the abyss. It is Zanu PF’s insatiable greed for absolute power, wealth and influence that has not us into this mess. If the nation should tumble over the edge then it must be said it was MDC’s blundering incompetence of participating in flawed elections, that pushed the nation over the edge.
