Tsvangirai's, through Giles Mutsekwa, strategy was to bribe the security chefs to switch sides and support him by promising them all manner of goodies. It did not work.

Even now, MDC-T are trying to win over thugs like Jabulani Sibanda and the rogue war veterans. Chamisa is right now on a charm offensive to win war veterans.

If Tsvangirai was to inherit the security thugs he would not change them one bit!Nomusa Garikaihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04964205157943684601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4779437748296704455.post-15186297294540425522016-11-22T07:58:13.849-08:002016-11-22T07:58:13.849-08:00When a party elects someone like Jabulani Sibanda ...When a party elects someone like Jabulani Sibanda or woos him it only goes to show the party has no right to call itself anything else other than a party of thugs! What the author has failed to grasp is reality that the root cause of Zimbabwe's present economic meltdown is the country's failure to have good and competent government. Zanu PF rigged the 2013 elections but could not rig economic recovery hence the reason the country is facing this economic meltdown. The street protests are all calling on the regime to solve one economic problem or another. The introduction of bond notes are going to make the economic hardships even worse and so there will be more protests.

Zanu PF can stay in power till 2018 and then rig those elections too but to what end and purpose if the regime cannot rig economic recovery too! This is just going round and round in circles.

If Zanu PF leaders think the people will continue to tolerate the present worsening economic situation forever then they are dreaming. The present economic situation is socially and politically unsustainable. And the solution is simple, implement the democratic reforms agreed during the 2008 GNU followed by the holding of free, fair and credible elections.

The same tasks the GNU was set to carry out are what the NTA must now carry out. The reason why any of the players in the GNU cannot play a role in the NTA is obvious, they cannot be trust to do since they failed to so last time.

Free, fair and credible elections is the key Zimbabwe needs to get out of the hell-hole Zanu PF has dragged the nation into. The nation had the golden opportunity to do just this during the GNU. There is no other way out, we have to implement the reforms or we will stuck here forever!Nomusa Garikaihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04964205157943684601noreply@blogger.com
